How often do you change your sheets?

Post by Lon »

I don't know about you but if I don't change the sheets on the bed at least every six months I just don't sleep very well.

The mold and odor really gets to me.:wah:

I, like most people I guess, change the bed sheets weekly but would like to do it daily even though impractical. I just seem to sleep better on fresh sheets.

How about you?

Every week for me as well. Yes its impractical to change them daily but there is nothing better then fresh clean sheets. :)

It's uncanny, Lon. I just went and checked and you're quite right, the upper cloth layer on my bed lifts off in just the way you described. What's more, being as it's the same shade as my duvet (roughly anyhow, once you get past a few coffee spills) I looked in detail at the way the duvet's constructed and there's a row of poppers along one edge. Taking out the padded central portion, I do believe I now have two large bits of nylon I can boil in my washing machine. I'll report back on progress later.

:wah: Very funny Lon. Guess I was feeling very jealous. I have a wee house and lots of company since I live at the beach. Company finds the weirdest places to sleep here:wah:

Save the water after boiling the nylon bits as it can be used as a gravy base.

I have 2 bedrooms. 2 beds, each used according to the day of the week. (Noise issues re front/back of house.) Anyway, I'd guess I change the sheets respectively once per week, but I agree that fresh sheets are a delight to sleep on.

Once a week at least. If I have a cold, I'll change them everyday.

You, sir, should set up in the prophecy business. How on earth did you know that was going to happen?

I'm slowly coming to the conclusion that bath-towels aren't, as I've always heretofore assumed, self-washing from their continual contact with clean water, but after this Bed Linen Disaster I'm hesitant to try any novel approach with them.

Mr. Spot, behave yourself please ! :sneaky: :lips:

My mum always used to say - Top to bottom, and bottom to wash, every week. That was during and after the war. She carried on doing the same thing all the rest of her days. I did likewise. It meant that you'd have a complete change every two weeks, with a half change every week. However, since sh!tted feets have come in, it has meant doing a complete change every week ! But that's no bad thing. "Clean straw" is lovely to sleep on ! :yh_wink:yh_sleep

I don't sleep on sheets. Like Leon (Jean Reno) in the movie "The professional" I sleep in a chair fully clothed.

No lie. I started doing it when I had to get up to pee about every hour or less. It was quicker to jump out of a recliner and run to the peeroom than to get out of bed.

Now I only get up once a night but got used to the convenience of sleeping in a recliner already dressed.

I live conveniently. No dishes. I eat out of a pan or skillet. Do have a few cups though. Very little furniture and few changes of clothes. Laundry room is right across the hall from me though. But, I'm happy.
