Oil Spill: Coast Guard Lifts Ban Restricting Journalists Near Booms

sounds like they were being kept 65 feet away from the boom? because vital equipment was being damaged? where is that part of the story? someone damaging cleanup equip would be a paper seller here.
I expressly forbid the use of any of my posts anywhere outside of FG (with the exception of the incredibly witty 'get a room already' )posted recently.

And what makes me unhappy is that the Coast Guard has been under the control and command of BP. Since when do Multi-National Corporations control the Armed Service Branches of the United States? Oh... (Insert snide remark here.)

(Insert snide remark here.)This comment is of course suggesting that Obama has given BP control of the armed forces. Where did you get this information? It contradicts everything the coast guard has said. Have any credible links?

That said, why would anyone be surprised that multi national corporations and even other nations (Israel) actually run this government. Isn't that exactly what conservatives have been "praying" for all these years? They've had their "prayers" answered.

Now that conservatives are beginning to witness the consequences of what they've been buying into, they don't like it and are now deciding to become "independent". I guess thats a start, but now they need to cease reading the conservative bullsh!t they've been feeding themselves.

Oh my. Just spend 15 seconds and google this topic. I'm surprised you didn't know about this since even the MSM reported it. Here are a couple of examples:

Since you think conservative values are b*llshit, then let me ask you when/what have you ever worked with the Government? Been in the service? Ever acted as a contractor for Uncle Sam? The Service Branches? Your comments tell me that you haven't.

Of course the CG denies. There's a big difference between tactical ops and strategic ops.

I find it remarkable that CBS would accept such a statement and not proceed with their exploration. Be arrested on what charge? On what authority does BP have regarding citizens or the media observing? This is BP's rules...thats absurd !

BP, Coast Guard Officers Block Journalists From Filming Oil-Covered Beach (VIDEO)I've seen both of those stories but how does that translate into " Since when do Multi-National Corporations control the Armed Service Branches of the United States?"? They don't, but both the CG and BP are most likely doing what they can to work together to control a bad situation. I'd hesitate describing cooperation between the two as BP taking over the military. Your partisan bias is evident in your original post.

I served in the Navy from 74-77. In fact I have a photo laying around the house somewhere of me as an 18 year old sailor shaking hands with then Navy Secretary - now retired senator John Warner

The photos are out there. They cant be stopped and if BP is doing damage control the reverse effect is happening because trying to pretend its not as bad as it really is and strong arming witnesses is repulsive. Calling it anything other than a major **** up and owning up to it is not even deceptive but ludicrous.

No doubt. What I guess I'm trying to find out is how much control do BP and BO have over local media on the Gulf Coast.

Conservatives and Libertarian and tea-baggers want small government or even no government at all. Well, ineffective government is not a whole lot different than what they've asked for. Now they want to know why the government is not doing a good enough job for them. The fact is that BP would have probably walked away from this entire mess without the government forcing them to take responsibility.

This is a small sample of what these people are asking for and they don't like it much.

In time it will balance the other way. Thats how it is. Half the country is in an uproar on one side or the other at all times. Thats the balance, it teeters and it totters.

When one considers overpopulation, pollution, war, inhumane treatment of other species and disregard of the planet as a whole, I disagree with the statement of thing balancing out. They don't, we just get use to and learn to accept our ravaging, neglect and complete disrespect for life and proper balance.

It teeters while the left grab power, it totters while the right grab power. Things are not balancing out because nobody gives any power back.

I just spent the last half hr. constructing a reply only to have some strange screen pop up and erase my words.

As much as I wish I could I cant change what took place.

In essence that was the meat of my reply.

It looks like this oil leak is finally under control and I hope it remains that way.

Now we can all get back to slaughtering the wildlife down in that part of the country for the right reasons of profit and sport instead of by accident where nobody but the oil industry and the media alone reap the benefits.
