Party ordinance?

Post by valerie »

Does your town have one? Ours does, and they just made it

tougher... a $100 fine for the first offense (first police response

to an address) and limits the number of people at a gathering

to TEN!! How they enforce that part of it I'm not sure, unless

an officer makes entry and COUNTS!

We are a "college town" and in a way, I understand the need for

something, but this law even got our mayor. She had a family

gathering, and notified neighbors beforehand... but was still

fined.

A neighbor a couple doors down had a big party last summer, with

a DJ and amplified music and all, but I would never call, they didn't

go very late (maybe 10:30 0r so?) and I think that's no biggie.

What happens at weddings and funerals? do they need a special licence or something. I could see there being an issue if it was habitually at one address with constant noisy parties. Come to think of it we have are more than ten people at a typical family gathering - at Christmas say. Why do you tolerate that kind of interference in your private lives? Pretty sure anyone suggesting you need neighbours permission to have a family gathering would get a very short answer, and god help anyone trying to enforce an ordinance like that at new year:yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl

sounds like some norman no pals with a power complex on the council.

Wow. I would be fined every single weekend. The family and friends come to my house every weekend to play cards, watch UFC, football etc etc. We commonly have 15-20 people there.

They should have a fund raiser for them, and when over 10 show up fine them!
