I used to be a biker. Just missed joining the 'Ton-up' Club, simply because at 95 mph on my hubby's Triumph TMA 350 (Sports), I was being gradually blown off the back of the dual seat! I couldn't get down any nearer to the tank (I was just about on it anyway!), and the force of the wind against what bit of my body was sticking up, was pulling my hands away from the handlebars :yh_nailbi . I didn't fancy rolling off the bike at 95 mph so I thought I'd better slow down a bit. It got much better at 85 thank goodness, but I must say I was dead peeved I didn't do the 100 mph - oh the bike was well capable but I was a little worried about being blown off the back! I did have my own bike, a Honda, but it was not capable of those sort of speeds!
I remember the first time I tried Chris's Triumph out. I carefully drove it down our village main street, went to change gear and did an emergency stop instead !!!!!
Of course, being used to a Japanese bike with the foot gear change on the right side, I automatically pressed the pedal on the right (on the Triumph) to change to a higher gear ! No that was the foot brake wasn't it! Brit bikes had the gear changer pedal on the left, Japanese were on the right! I very nearly came off, but I soon learned that lesson ! :yh_rotfl
