I have not got Flea's....

Post by Oscar Namechange »

I would like any suggestions as to what appears to have eaten my body In my sleep.

I am not too proud to admit that here and there, we do pick the odd Flea off our 3 dogs and 2 Persian cats when brushing them. I have been advised by the vet that the Flea has become Immune to 'Frontline' which I must protest strongly about on account of It costing £109 to apply preventitive treatment for our brood. There Is apparently a new version available now that I will be using when the Frontline has worn off but until then, Yes, we do get the odd one.

I know they are not Infested because all are brushed every day particually the Persians and there Is no Flea dirt. Besides, If there was a build up of Flea's, I would have been bitten regually and I have not had one bite.

I went to bed 2 nights ago In the nuddy ( Calm down Snowfire) and I probably threw the duvet off as usual. I got up In the morning and my entire back, one side, one booby, and one leg was covered In red welts. These have now become Inflamed and the Doctor has just prescribed me some Anti-Histermine cream.

These are nothing like Flea bites that tend to have a head If you get the urge to scratch them. The Doctor has said that what ever has bitten me has made around 100 bites leaving these welts all over one side of my body. Instead of Individual bites, It looks like I have been burnt all down that side.

We always sleep with the windows open and some-thing must have got In to the bedroom but what?

Do we get Mossy's In the West Country or do you know of any-thing else that would do this?

You could very well have a combination of ctenocephalides canis & ctenocephasides felis, a very irritating mix since both belong to the order of siphonaptera. A good antihistamine or hydrocortizone ointment should help soothe the itching and irritation.

Did you eat anything unusual last night? When my chemical exposure is at a higher level I can get severe reactions to spices or foods that I'm sensitive to that sound exactly like that. Hives that feel like your skin is burning.

If it's an allergic reaction it can spread, move around or just affect one part or one side of your body until your system recovers and hydrocortisone is the best thing for it topically. It should subside within 24 hours, if you avoid scratching at the hives... put mittens on if you have to :p

I blame spot.
The crowd: "Yes! We are all individuals!"

Spot may be responsible for many things but not this as I am more likely to win the Turner Prize than share a bed with him.

The cream has helped and the welts have gone down.

Today, paranoia has set In so I have stripped the bed, hoovered and sprayed the mattress with Acclaim. Ihave to wait 8 hours now for It to air.

I could hardly sleep last night at the thought of some creepy crawley possibly breeding In my bed.
