The National Office For Statistics has expended a great deal of money on researching the well-being of dwarves. They found that only one dwarf in seven was happy !

Oh now that's so unfair, spending all that money on their research, and they never even considered my well being.

Typical. Hrruumph.

If your talking about dwarves you have to include Gimli son of Gloin and Drizzt Do'Urden's friend Bruenor Battlehammer, and the tons of other Dwarven heros of The LODR and Forgotten Realms series, Oh and speaking of Elves you have include Drizzt, Legolas, and Elrond. Some would include Spock, but he is a Vulcan not an elf of course only a few realize the real difference.

To consider the well-being of such height-challenged folk, I think 6 out of 7 should be sent to the Doc. :sneaky:

Personally, I think they're all pretending to be sick. I'll bet they're stories are not snow-white. :lips:

Seriously I agree, but I am not sure this post is serious about the problems people like me who are short not necisarily considered to be suffering from dwarfism but just short face. Heightism is already a startred post hear on FG that I already seen also gets jokingly passed off as a legitimate problem. I am not sure if anyone else hear knows or cares but hear are a few links

No prob, Like you said they never stop so us who are vertically challanged have come to find it a norm for someone to "pick on the little guy", bash on them for "coming up short" or "Failing to reach" their goals, I am afraid we will "Never live up to" the norm that has come to be the Ideal today.

I'm very sorry, CJ, but the whole idea of this particular thread was to be amusing concerning the seven dwarves' names !

In fact the OP was a Snow White and the Seven Dwarves' joke ! I was a bit surprised that there was such a response from people who moved along with the initial joke.

There was absolutely no intention of any offence intended to people who are short in stature, and I, as the author of the OP, wish to apologise for any unintentional offence which may have been taken from the content of the OP and any subsequent posts.

I also thank you for providing those very informative links.

It may interest you to know that, as a child at school, as I had freckles, wore glasses and had long black hair done up in plaits. If I wasn't teased and picked on for having freckles (and called names). I was sneered at for wearing glasses (and called names), or I had my plaits constantly tugged and was called names - all this was mostly by boys, but some spiteful girls indulged as well. I used to manage by laughing with them, which spoiled their fun as their intention was only to get 'a rise' out of me !

Unfortunately, the human being, particularly children, can be very cruel and will pick up on anything which is not quite normal, or out of the ordinary. How to put a stop to this is an ongoing problem.

Nah. Little kids want big presents, but they usually turn out to be plastic toys, like Tonka trucks.

Grown ups prefer small, beautifully-wrapped packages that contain small and well-thought-out gifts...

(such as diamond rings, diamond tennis bracelets, diamond earrings or anything of a similar nature) :sneaky::D:-4

Yeah true the one thing that has been proven to decrease the heightism(for males) Weight(for females) in other people especially is how easily a short male/ overweight female can obtain things like diamond rings, and things of similar nature.
