oh snow not again !! the AA grumpy column

Post by the grumps »

good morning from grumpy towers.

the cleaner has arrived and starting her work lady grumpies in bed and the kids are at school so i thought well why not bash out another column so here it is.

SCOTLAND is facing another savage "white-out" winter - with temperatures plunging to -20°C, forecasters warned last night.

The country is set for a repeat of last year's blizzard chaos - which brought power cuts, school closures and saw transport grind to a halt.

now you may call me a cynical old so and so (you.re a cynical old so and so ! ED ) yes thank you ED your comments i can do without on a monday morning.

but isnt this some kind of warning or prediction the local authorities and power suppliers and transport should take note of ?

remember last year gritting salt shortages emergency services under pressure

trucks struggling to get food and fuel to the supermarkets the country at a standstill.

now am the only one with sense and foresight but doesnt this say get everything ready plenty of gritting salt and contingincy plans in place etc so we dont have a repeat of last year not just in scotland but in england and wales.

You'd think so wouldn't you !

I've seen reports here - down south - that some councils will be short of grit/salt and others have ordered extra.....we'll see !

I have also been reading reports that we are In for a hard winter. Of course my priorities are different to most people and my concern Is primarily that chicken and egg supplies will get through so I can keep the Fox Community well fed and there will not be a run again which left me short of bird seed like last year.

Andy Pandy.......... It may cheer the cockles of your heart that I had an E mail today from the Nazi Party and they are organising a huge Blanket, quilts etc collection for the elderly this winter.

I've already bought an extra quilt and had my boiler checked over. Next step is to by some extra provisions should I be unable to leave the house.

However....if the gas & electricity supplies go down I'll be ********* :yh_rotfl
