Thank You Jazz. It is about a public meeting I have called for tomorrow night.

This Is me:

A WOMAN from Mangotsfield is calling on residents to come together to fight anti-social behaviour.

I have Police coming to a question and answer session with residents and Local Ward Councillors are also coming. I believe the local press Is coming to cover the meeting so It should be In the newspapers again.

The BBC saw the article about me In the newspaper and phoned to offer me some additional publicity. Which Is jolly helpful.

This Is actually the 6th time I have spoken on BBC radio around the country but still get very nervous especially at the prospect that Spot Is listening. :wah:

Good luck. But to get over nervousness caused by spot listening why not use some of those techniques by those self help gurus to help cope with intimidating individuals? For instance try imagining him sitting naked with a waste basket on his head listening to the radio.

This is a wonderful cause Oscar, and thank you for caring so much about your community.

I wish I could do this in my town, but neighbors are too complacent. There are not many locals here in the off season and the town next to me rents to sex offenders and criminals.

I will be moving from my beloved beach when the time is right. It's beautiful here, and I love my home and the sea, but I can't take the element of people who rent here.

Wish I could listen to your radio station but wouldn't be home anyway to hear it. Any way you can tape it or perhaps you can send a link to the newspaper article when it comes out.

Good luck Oscar !!!!!

Spot naked with a waste basket on his head???? Oh God, I just spat coffee all over the laptop.

You are right though. When I was on GMTV, they have one of those guru's In the Green room to help the Oiks with the first time on live TV. They did say that Imagining your Interviewer naked helps but my Interviewer was 'Ben Shepherd' which as the ladies will Imagine made me far worse.

Thank You Kathy so much.

It is one of those things where many people say ..'Some-body ought to do some-thing' but then wait years for that 'some-body' to do It.

The whole scheme has been met with a positive response but as I said In my other thread... Any-one can call a meeting but It Is getting the right Key figures to support you. Local Police and ward Councillors have been fantastic and It is them that will make It a success, not me.

It Is not just about detering anti-social behaviour but looking at ways we can provide activities for the children and teenagers In our area.

Sadly Kathy, we can choose our friends but not our neighbours and we have the same problem here.

Oscar, I too wish you all the best with your interview.

I also hope the program itself and the aftermath turn out to be a spectacularly positive.

I don't receive Bristol BBC Radio, but what an advert for your campaign.

Incidentally your last post, where you mention the newspaper article, is excellent.

Please post an update with as much detail your time will allow.

Thank You Kind Sir :)

As I said, the local press are likely to be there to cover the meeting because some Key figures are attending so I will post the article here If they print It.

I have always been fortunate to have the local and National press on my side as good publicity as you know Is the key to the success of any project. Without It, there Is a lot of hard work getting word around.

Locals and the Police I am sure will be relieved to hear that I have no Intention of making any speeches :wah: I will Introduce the Ward Councillors and Officers, then I am sitting down:wah: The evening would be far better spent with the questions and answer session between residents and Police.

Thank You folks.. Well I have just taken a call from a firm of printers who have offered me totally free printing for the campaign and any-thing else I need. The publicity seems to be paying off but as I keep saying, It is the people who are supporting me that will amke this work.

Thank You Spot. I was so nervous last time I knew you were listening but I had a chat with Nigel Dando today and he was quite re-assuring.

What a bonus for my campaign? Free BBC publicity.

I shall cetainly enjoy the morning and the evening tomorrow night.

Good luck Oscar, I'm sure it will all go well tomorrow. Just get some sleep tonight eh?

If it will help, I have a link for BBC Radio Bristol, but not sure if this can be got from America. It takes you to the 'home' page. Just check it - I believe you can listen 'live' and also to listen later to a previously aired programme - check the listings etc. There are two tabs in the maroon band 'Listen Live' and 'Listen Again'

BBC - Bristol

At this moment there is a live commentary of the football - Swindon v. Bristol Rovers !

Gill, I'm pretty sure that plays through BBC iplayer so it may not be available to those outside the UK. I'll certainly save it to favourites and listen in tomorow. I already have in my head a voice I have attributed to Oscar :sneaky:

All done and dusted.

It was a very brief Interview and I was on with our local Police Inspector who got to speak more than me. :wah: That makes a change... some-one else got a word In edge-ways :wah:

He said the proposed scheme has been helpful In another area.

The Interviewer wanted the Vigilantee angle but I hope that I was able to get across that the proposed scheme was far removed from that.

At least I got publicity for the meeting tonight and the success of any scheme or project Is the publicity.

BBC iPlayer - Breakfast With Steve Le Fevre: 12/10/2010

Actual interview :- Move your cursor along the time bar till the time shows 1.11.35 (That is the time lapse since the start of this programme at 6.30 am till the start of the interview - saves having to listen to the whole programme from 6.30am!)

Very good Oscar, and the advertising your meeting tonight came through nicely ! :-6

Just got home.....

Good turn out at the meeting tonight. Bristol reporter and photographer were there but a suspicious hack taking photo's and notes that no-one recognised sat at the back. He was 'Press Association' which covers The Daily Mail and he scarpered before we could get an Idea of who he was there for. Please let It NOT be the Daily Mail...

Some-thing that was so awesome was the words from 'Chris Skidmore' Member of Parliament for Bristol South Glou about how he first me and how he admired my determination and commitment to our community and how he fully supported me.... Cheques In the post Chris.

The reaon I have not posted a link from the newspapers with a run down on the meeting Is due to the photograph they printed. It Is of myself sitting with our Police Inspector and I am not sure how he would feel about having his mush on FG. I am happy to send the link to any-one who wants to see It though.

As predicted, not a huge turn-out but the Important people were there such as MP, Councillors, press and some residents. Also as predicted, after the meeting, took many calls asking what is being done. My meeting and out-come Is still In the pipe-lines but tomorrow I am setting about arranging 2 more public meetings for residents who have phoned after seeing the newspaper reports. One area Is In South Gloucestershire and the other In Portishead, Bristol. I will start by contacting their ward councillors In the morning to get the ball rolling.

Looks as if things are starting to roll, Oscar.

My family lived in Portishead during the war before I was born. My dad worked at Bristol and used to cycle to work and back home every day.

Very lovely area but some elderly residents who rung me said they have real problems with ASB down there.

Was told In Tesco tonight that I was on the front page of the Bristol Observer today... I had no Idea.
