Here's a good question for you all: What is the most memorable moment of your life so far?

My life has been pretty boring and quite uneventful so far, but perhaps the moment that I remember the most were the days before and after I had my eye operation. Those days are certainly something that will not be forgotten and will stay with me for my life.

Sunday 29 October 1967, the birth of my beautiful baby daughter:-6

My psycho ex had just walked into my house (he'd been stalking me for awhile) and I was backed into the kitchen. Just as I was trying to dial the phone behind my back two of my male friends surprised me by just showing up. It was almost like dramatic TV series timing. They "escorted" him out the front door. Since then I've learned to kick male stalker butt myself, but I'll always remember that day and be grateful.

It was so traumatic, exciting and life altering that it was wiped from my memory to protect me.:D

Our son was born in 1973. That, I will never forget. I can’t imagine how indelible it is for my wife.

The days my children were born....

First son...10/96

Second son 2/99

Third son 3/00

First little girl! 5/02

But I must say what stands out the most was the day the second little guy was born because it was also the day he died. He was premature. And the other day etched in my memory forever is March 26, 2003, the day my little girl (10 months at the time) was airlifted and almost died in a diabetic coma. I was told she would need 3 insulin injections everyday for the rest of her life to live. To date we have given her over 2,300 shots and over 4,400 finger sticks to check blood sugar! It's only been 2 years. Our lives were changed forever that day.

I think it was the night I met my husband. I was 19 yrs, old and didn't have a clue what life was about. Our life has been up and down every since. Four sons, five daughter-in laws, six grandchildren, moved eight times, lost three of our parents, work, work, work. Our goal now is to stay healthy and this side of the six feet of dirt. :-6

It ws 5:00 in the morning, I was in the Air Force Reserves on a flight currency checkride. I climbed into a F-15D Eagle fighter jet and took off. I flew to 55,000 feet and hit the rocket-assist. My check-pilot and I cruised on up to 65,000 feet.

I was up in "near-space". The top of the atmosphere. The sky turned from dark blue to jet black. All the stars were out, not just the ones you see on the ground, all of them. Billions upon billions. They were hard points of light, unblinking.

I looked down, I could see the entire Northern hemisphere from where I was. I was over Oklahoma and I could clearly make out New York. The atmosphere lay like a thin blue blanket over the world, and I could clearly make out it's incredible thinness as I looked across the curve of the world.

Just then, the sun came up over the horizon. It was breathtakingly beautiful.

Jives you were so lucky to experience a moment that the rest of us can not even imagine. It was you and the heavens, what a very special place to be. Thank you for sharing with us.
