A Thank You to Bryn Mawr

Post by Kathy Ellen »

I'd like to take a moment to thank Bryn for posting a comment, in one of my threads, about how important it is to back data up on your computer.

I'm a very lazy person...full of procrastinations about backing up data and filing 'stuff.' I hate to think of those 'little details.'

Well, my laptop hard drive crashed taking EVERYTHING with it. Luckily, because of Bryn's comments about backing up 'stuff.' I spent quite a bit of time backing up my pictures and documents and all important information before the crash.

My techie guy is going to teach me how to store my 'stuff' in a few different ways soon, so I'm delighted to know that my data will be secure.

Thank you Bryn for helping me see the light. You're a good man so full of good advice. I appreciate your 'heads-up.' You've saved me a lot of tears and pain.:-6

Ahhhh, thanks Bryn.

You give such good advice. I was thrilled to know that I had everything of importance backed up before the crash.

I would have lost everything if not for your advice.

I'm very lazy and need a good kick up the arse before I take action.

Thanks again and follow your own advice and 'back up.':-6

With all the new backup drives they have now it does the work for you, you just have to plug it in and let it start backing up. :) Glad you were have your data intact.

I have the exact same Laptop, actually there are 5 in my family we have had not one problem with them other than 1 fan just went out on my nieces and it was very dirty inside. :)
ALOHA!!

Stupid thing is that I have several other people's off site backup here but not my own.

Backup starting as we speak!

Thanks Carla. My tech guy told me that the inside of my laptop was full of sand and fiber inside. He told me to get a lap holder for the laptop and I did. But, I think the sand/fiber was in it before I started using the lap holder.

Not sure why it crashed....I remember leaving it on all night. I turned it off and later on when turned on again, it crashed.

Anyway, it's fixed now, but I still can't use it. I need to put in the right key number and my router won't accept the number given to me by my tech guy. My tech guy is not around right now so I'll have to wait to see why my computer won't recognize the key #. I'm sure the problem is something simple.

For the real cheapies in the house (like me), portable hard drives are really inexpensive nowadays. I got one big enough to store everything in all 3 of our home computers.

Unfortunately I didn't back up my work laptop, since I only got it about a month ago. I guess it was cheap as well as inexpensive, because it has died already and took my most recent files with it. :(

Hey you...Stop it right now and back up your 'stuff!'

Accountable....I'm really sorry. I've meant, for a long, long time, to thank you for posting a thought that you always copy your posts when you know they will be long and take a bit of time to write.

I have followed your advice for the most part, and copy/paste as I'm posting an important post. Now, if I click a button and my post disappears, I can always paste it again. Thank you for that wonderful piece of advice. I copy posts and info that I'm typing all the time, especially when I'm doing lesson plans for school. I copy and save/copy and save...yada..yada...:-6Now I don't lose anything.

Thank you Accountable....

Thanks to Carla, Bryn and you, I'm back on track for 'happy posting!'

Thank you all so much for your advice.
