I am so proud

Post by nvalleyvee »

I am so proud of BTS. He quit smoking 10 days ago, has kept to his low fat diet, taken his meds AND started laughing again.

I, on the other hand, chose to lay down (arms and legs pounding the floor :o in true 2 year old tantrum fashion) about smoking until last Wednesday. I have had 2 cigs since then.

My SIL left for Iraq yesterday. I am proud of him - not just for serving in the armed forces but for being a stand up man to himself and a good husband/friend to my daughter.

I am proud of my daughter for deciding NOT to come back home to live while he is gone. She is going to stay at base - keep her job - and hold down their home front until his safe return to her loving arms. BTW - she turns 21 this week. I was playing college at her age. Of course there will be lots of phone calls for support.

She gets internet connection tomorrow and I thought about having her join FG but she has waaaay tooooo mannnnny stories. :sneaky:

Well, don't take this the wrong way NV, but i always knew the guy had balls!

And only two cigs, I think that's awesome girl! One little question though....where'd the 2 come from? You're not hiding a stash are you? ;)

Yes I had a stash of 4 cigs - I have 2 left - I seem to panic at the thought of having NO cigs. I felt no high and a lot of guilt both times - go figure.

Too much info NV? I've thought the same about my daughter...I wouldn't want her around here to tell on me!!
Think positive. And if you can't, fake it 'til you make it.

Incidentally, my Grandfather used to say " Giving up smoking is easy, I've done it thousands of times" :D

This is the first time I ever tried to quit. I'm one of those people who don't take the challenge lighlty and to lose would be a great mind f*uck for me.

Ummm Errr Hurrumph - you do not know my daughter. She would take great joy in exposing all of my disgressions and I was much worse than she was being a teen in the late 60's - all the while putting the :lips: face on every post she did. :wah:

Toss 'em NV. You know you're strong enough. Look at the incredible people around you. One of 'em is incredible primarily because of you! You deserve to join them on your "I'm proud of ..." list. Do it. I know you can. You know you can.
