Keeping it fair and competitive

Post by Tariki »

Chelsea now seem to be dominating the English Premiership................perhaps because of the millions poured into the club by a certain Russion billionaire!

I have heard that there are certain rules and regulations in place in American (USA) sport that attempt to guarantee a more level and competitive playing field. Things such as "salary caps" and equal distribution of "gate" receipts.

Is there anyone here who can advise me of the full details regarding this?

Thanks

:)

The problem with capping footballers salaries may lead to us losing good players to foreign climes.

Abbey,

That is exactly what will happen, it has happened here time and time again. Money talks in the sports world. What has started to happen as well is the teams with less money are producing stars as well and the field is becoming a bit more even. A good player is a good player they all can't play for the money teams.

Soccer(Football on your side of the pond)... Isn't the money draw it is over there. Soccer here is on a National Team Level, which my Niece is on. The professional teams are the Male teams, the Women's teams just couldn't pull in the crowds at the games. We lose National team players to the pro's and the Eurpean teams.

What we have here for our "Football" players in the NFL (not soccer football), are huge signing bonuses right out of College when they haven't even proved their worth as a professional player. This is a big problem some get injured in the first season and never are what they were to be.

ALOHA!!

The players on the other teams should practice more then.If they connot handle the talent, they shouldn't be In the game.Practice makes perfect. The money should be of no significants In this matter. This Isn't "little league" anymore.

Practice!
