I LOVE being a GEEK!! (Geeks Anonymous)

Post by Raven »

My name is Raven and I am a geek.

A goth geek at that! I ask you..what is wrong with good 'ol fashioned BOOKS?? What the heck is this kimble thing supposed to replace? I love the smell of old books, and the act of turning the pages, and dare i say it.....dog earing them!

Science is a form of archaeology, in that it has to dig for answers.

On my wish list is a metal detector to find the next Saxon Horde...I love the thought of being able to unroll the old scrolls of YE OLDE ENGLAND and having to wear white gloves to do so...

Who else is here who loves being a geek?

Meeting has commenced! :yh_hugs

I'd be glad to rake around a field with you looking for a fortune of Saxon gold.

As for books, whats wrong with the smell of an old Kimble :wah:

I'm with you on this, I bought my wife a sony one for christmas but I prefer books and I love libraries - where else can you try out different authors and genres without the worry you're wasted your money if you don't like it.

Isn't it a Kindle???

I might get one, I might not, can't decide, I do like to hold a proper book. Trouble is I'm not sure my living room can hold many more :D

I love old books. one of my favorite things to do is find a book fair, or a used book store, and just wander around, looking for a few treasures.

Those kimble things are great for loading up with all the tech manuals I need to have for reference, but for recreational reading I prefer a BOOK.

We have to teach a younger generation to READ first!:yh_tong2 so if Kindles make reading cool for them...so be it. HOWEVER...it does NOT replace the feeling of turning the pages of a good book!

And I agree, my friend. Serious UBERGEEK you! :-4
