The new flu

Post by koan »

Got the strangest flu.

Started with my ears popping two nights ago and feeling a bit stuffy but hardly noticeable. The next day I felt faint and woozy. I had to go to work as we're short staffed this week and there wasn't anyone to fill in but I was so feverish I went to move a step ladder and, finding the metal cold, ended up hugging it against my neck to cool down.

One of our regular clients came in kind of chuckled. Said he had the same flu. Totally spaced out and was laughing because some people pay good money to feel this way.

He's right, it's not exactly a painful experience, it just feels like a hamster with a hulu skirt could pop out of the fridge and bring me a Mai Tai and I wouldn't find it weird.

At work, sick employees have to pass through the personnel office (where I work) to go back and visit the nurse. Lysol spray is promptly deployed by the nurse to kill germs. I have been lucky so far. I've also had the flu shot.

Being sick is absolutely no fun.

Yep I have lysol, hand wipes, disinfectant spray you name it. I get the flu shot every year and I'm usually the only one who doesn't sick. :) I touch keyboards, mouses all day long on staff equipment you would think I would be sick all the time.

I think I felt the fever break this morning when I half woke up. Then I fell asleep again for awhile. Staying wrapped in two housecoats a hat and scarf so I feel cozy but kind of like you feel cozy if you jump into a room full of pillows.

Koan you have 1 or 2 more days and then you start feeling better, and least the fever goes away. Fluids, rest works wonders.

I'm lucky to work with people who have the same fear of germs as I do. Customers are always hacking all over the place. We love our Clorox wipes and hand sanitizer.

This is definitely the same flu my coworker had.

Have to work today anyway, just hope it's not too crazy. Hard to put up with angry strangers when I'm not feeling well.

Prone is good. Drinking's good. Sleep might even help. Get well soon.
