A petition has been started to keep Paris Hilton from going to jail. Here's my favorite line

She provides hope for young people all over the U.S. and the world. She provides beauty and excitement to (most of) our otherwise mundane lives.

For the whole petition letter

OH MY GOSH. Somebody actually thinks that? I knew about jail but I never bothered to read why she was going. Why is she going anyway?

I think that's really funny and kinda sad. It's not the part about how she looks that gets me; it's that anyone actually thinks she has that much candlepower to be a bright spot in the world. She's absolutely vapid.

Oops, I'm being judgmental again....

She's going because she broke her probation. And she's going for a whole whopping 45 days. I guess she's afraid she might miss a big sale on Rodeo Drive or something.

We seem to have had claustrophobia on account of the small size of the special cell provided by the jail authority. I'm sure any other inmate would have been removed to house arrest were she equally sensitive to discomfort.

In the morning they asked her, "Did you sleep well?"

" Oh!" said the Princess. "No. I scarcely slept at all. Heaven knows what's in that bed. I lay on something so hard that I'm black and blue all over. It was simply terrible."

They could see she was a real Princess and no question about it, now that she had felt one pea all the way through twenty mattresses and twenty more feather beds. Nobody but a Princess could be so delicate. So the Prince made haste to marry her, because he knew he had found a real Princess.

Isn't claustrophobia a mental issue?

She deserves exactly what she got, just because she is a rich young girl, doesn't mean she can get her own way, she should except what she did was wrong and grow up - though I really doubt that will happen somehow!! :p

There are several threads on this, I expect FG can afford to keep them all running.

Here's the BBC announcement, anyway. It's reasonable in the same sense as George Bush's iimpotence with regard to a Presidential Pardon for I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby Jr. - too many people would roll their eyes.Celebrity heiress Paris Hilton has been taken screaming from a Los Angeles court after being told to return to jail to serve out her sentence. The celebrity heiress was ordered to attend the hearing rather than listen to the proceeding by telephone.

Hilton left jail on Thursday, just three days into a 45-day sentence for violating probation on a driving ban. Her release from detention, on unspecified medical grounds, had sparked widespread criticism.

Hilton attended court to hear the case for her "reassignment" to house arrest. She arrived in handcuffs and cried throughout the court session.
