I'm heading to Vancouver for the weekend to visit a friend. I've only been there once, during the Olympics, for a day trip since I moved to Victoria and it was really cathartic. I try not to dwell on the past as the present and future are more important. I have really bad memories from Vancouver but it's not the city's fault.
I'm not a 'big city girl' so it doesn't have the draw for me that a lot of Victoria people feel. To me, living in Victoria is the wonderful vacation. Going back almost seems like work. But I do want to see my friend again. Sadly, I can count on one hand the people I'd still like to see again from the mainland.

I would say most have bad memories, since it's our long weekend and your going to visit your friend, surely it will be a good time.
