Hey Asho.....

So did we at the beach. It only lasted a minute or so. We were standing outside and just felt the earth move...I've never felt a tremor before.

Will have to google and see where else it's been felt.

Hope everyone down in VA are ok....

We do get some earthquakes along the East coast, especially in the New York and Connecticut areas...

5.7 minor we live with them daily in California here is a link to USGA site that is daily reading for us here on the west coast. When the ground rumbles, and roll, and you get nauseated then you experienced a 6 or above. You do get use to them. California is probably the only state that builds with earthquakes in mind.

I was thinking about you today when we felt the aftershock this afternoon. I've never felt that before. I love the West coast but do worry about earthquakes. Here, we worry about chemical pollutants and cancer.

U.S. Geological Survey Earthquake Hazards ProgramIt's funny, I lived in California for 3 years while in the Navy during the mid 70's and I don't recall ever experiencing one. Not saying they're not there, I know they are, but either I've forgotten or I was just lucky, I guess.

Perhaps the seawater isolates your bunk from the shifting rocks?

We do have them daily just so small you can't feel them. I'm a native San Diegan and have experienced many there was one big one here in 1968 I remember because I was pregnant at the time. Can't remember any big ones in the 70's. Just look at this map California is shaking all the time. :)

After being out on some of those excursions with rolls that had us walking on the bulkheads (walls) at times it may be no wonder I hadn't noticed earthquakes. It did get wild at times because I was on a smaller type ship.

I live in the center of the city in a community call "Serra Mesa" it is above mission valley and the stadium about 10 minutes to the beach. Grew up in Pacific Beach then moved in land when my parent bought a home in "Allied Gardens" which is by San Diego State about mission valley also. I have family all over San Diego living in almost every city. You would be amazed to see Chula Vista now it has changed a great deal over the years very nice communities.

Yes it is truly a specil place the weather is almost perfect all year. I have traveled all over the world and can really say San Diego weather is the best. The beaches are awesome and you are 20 minutes to the mountains from the beach, just a special little corner of the world.

The proposed Fracking In The Mendips was brought to my attention because of the Impact of wildlife. When I Investigated further, It frightened the life out of me.

By co-Incidence I have a meeting with my local MP next tuesday about this.
