Stuff you notice about society

Post by fuzzywuzzy »

and things that make you go ....hhhhhhmmmmm.

Feel free to add anything you think is a little weird in your own communities.

For instance I've noticed (or realised lately ) after Australia introduced some of the toughest gun laws in the world ....something weird has happened. Police now walk around in bullet proof vests. They never used to when there were heaps of guns out there, but now it seems the boogie man is after them .............hhhhhhmmmmmm.

I think there Is a conspiricy In my village. I think the Council know of a mystery Illness or plague that is about to strike down half the village.

I can think of no other reason why they would be spending thousands of tax payers money Installing bicycle parks outside the Undertakers.

I may have been holiday at the time but I don't recall ever seeing a mile long queue outside the village Undertakers with folks saying... damn, If only there was somewhere to put my bike.

I've noticed that around here too. Even our security guards wear vests. We pretty much live in a culture that stinks of fear on just about every level. Some of it is justified, we have some of the toughest guns laws in the USSA but somebody gets gunned down nightly. We don't have a civil society anymore.

Authorities also like to wear vests and whatever because it makes them look important and because of the intimidation factor, you need to be in control of the herd. There's also practicality and fashion. I hear a lot about how Russian soldiers wear their uniforms or what they wear with them, tennis shoes for instance or their mess kits and little baubles on their uniforms. When the bullets start flying they like to have nimble feet (preferably Nikes) and their steel dinner plate stuffed down their shirt, just in case. Its called Tacticool in military circles. Vests are also tacticool.
