There seem to be a number of divisive characters in the US. How do you feel about Jesse Jackson, for example? He's a Christian minister too but unlike Pat Robertson I've always rather liked what I've heard of him. What's the essential difference between the two?

I agree Lon can't stand Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton either. Basically I don't like any of the Bible thumbers they all prove to be any thing but what they represent themselve to be. With the exception of Billy Graham none of them practice what they preach.

I have no problem with Jesse. I don't always agree with him but he does not make any Fundamentalist Statements like Robertson.

I find it a bit spooky when there are soooo many that would actually vote for someone like Robertson, despite the fact that he would never win.

I'll see your Al Sharpton and raise you a Louis Farrakhan.

Pat Robertson's best known in Britain for what he said about the Scots. I'd need to look it up to remind me but it was eyebrow-raising.

he said Scotland was "a dark land" overrun by homosexuals.

It's one of the few reasons anyone outside of america has heard of him. Once we stopped laughing the bank of scotland forgot it's plans for a business operation with him. At least he says what he thinks rather han what he thinks people want to hear.
