When We Was Fab!

Post by jones jones »

Living in the Republic of South Africa, there is a strong group of expatriate white Rhodesians. The local whites call them “when wees,” as they often refer to the time “when we were in Rhodesia.”

Now I do not want to be called a “when we, “but I do often look back at when Forum Garden was at its best, well in my opinion anyway. It was about three years ago in 2008that I first joined FG. In those days a thread put up on “Chit Chat” often received 100 or more replies.

Some of the members I called my friends then, or maybe not my friends were:

Pheasy … Jeeze not matter how much I tried, this beautiful lady kept giving me the brush off! Hope6 … We were very good friends once, me & this Southern Belle. Her boy Jake must be a big boy by now. Chezzie … the best legs I ever saw on an FG lady!

Jimbo … a real good guy who once became a farmer. Dunno why! Shellbell … we remained friends after I left FG. Wonder what happened to this nice lady? G-Man … this dude never liked me. K.Snyder … I see him on FG every now and again. He fancied Hope

6 too.

Koan … hmmm, I will never ever forget how she actually asked me to be the “mystery gardener” once! Carolly … what a voice and a lady who believed that seeing is believing and feeling is the god’s truth. Sad that I now only see her name in the games forum. RedGlitter … one of the few people on FG who stood up for me.

Kazalala … I once wrote a poem for her. Pinkchick … my Rosanna! Still here but lost to me as a friend. Bryn Mawr … now the gaffer. A real gentleman. Kayleneaussie … G’day to you Aussie, where ever you may be! SuzyB … I used to call her SusyQ. What a ceauty! Littlemissgiggle … naughty naughty! Kinks … who despite all her problems remained a beautiful soul who never spoke ill of anyone.

Perhaps some of them are still here under different names … I have no way of knowing.

These are just a few of the wonderful people I came into contact with here on FG in the “good old days!” Sigh … Those were the days!

Ah no-----------------The good old days was 2004--2005 when there were fights galore, arguments and name calling, gnashing of teeth and hurt feelings, epithets aplenty. Threat's to leave FG forever. Sigh---Those were surely inspiring times. :wah:

Anticipation Lyrics

Artist: Carly Simon

Album: Anticipation

We can never know about the days to come

But we think about them anyway, yay

And I wonder if I'm really with you now

Or just chasin' after some finer day

Anticipation, anticipation

Is makin' me late

Is keepin' me waitin'

And I tell you how easy it feels to be with you

And how right your arms feel around me

But I, I rehearsed those lines just late last night

When I was thinkin' about how right tonight might be

Anticipation, anticipation

Is makin' me late

Is keepin' me waitin'

And tomorrow we might not be together

I'm no prophet and I don't know nature's ways

So I'll try and see into your eyes right now

And stay right here 'cause these are the good old days

(These are the good old days)

And stay right here 'cause these are the good old days

(These are the good old days)

(These are the good old days)

(These are the good old days)

(These are.....the good old days

Just In case Jester does look In as a guest, here's a lovely little ditty for him.

Far Rider was more fun but yes, I always regretted his going - one of the good guys.
