The False Peace.

Post by Scrat »

Interview from Al-Jazeera about the situation in Egypt, Israel and Turkey. A long time ago I remember AC declaring that the peace between Israel and Egypt was legitimate. I guess in the eyes of the politicians and paid off Egyptian generals it was but now, with the "Arab spring" and the people finally being able to speak out, it appears it is just another facade. There was never a treaty between the people of the Arab world and Israel. It's the people who really count in the end.

With the weapons filled warehouses (some very sophisticated stuff) of Libya being emptied by all kinds of shadowy individuals, the Turks getting their underwear bunched up over the Gaza blockade incident and Arabs all over the world taking note this may get ugly.

Israels inability to show the slightest amount of respect for the peoples around them, their fascistic and racist policies ensure there will be no peace in the region. Americas servile obedience to Israel ensures that we will be heavily involved at extraordinary cost.

It's a long vid but filled with good material.

Me?!?

I more likely said something a bit more cynical about real peace being more than just stopping the fighting. The Arab-Israeli situation doesn't hold my interest much beyond evidence of the natural consequences of Western hubris.

The situation with the Kurds is going to get very interesting, turkey can't point fingers too much at israel when it comes to racism and america hasn't said much about giving iraqi turks independence - not that the oil has anything to with that of course.

The rules of the game have changed somewhat undeed.
