Small but widespread protests all over America. I don't think it's enough to change how things are. We'll see and I can hope something changes with time. What we're doing now isn't working.

The police are taken care of by the powers that be. They get very good compensation and benefits and they're certainly not going to jeopardize that. The Pinkertons and their like are out there also, fully staffed by Americans that are of the same inclination. No form of government is without its police forces for it's own protection. I do believe the US government even has concentration camps set up if the sheeple really get out of line.

Video of Occupy Wall Street protesters at Brooklyn Bridge | The Raw Story

Been watching with interest wondering when ordinary Americans would start getting angry at the direction their country is taking.

MSNBC Reporter SLAMS NYC Police Brutality!

Maybe this kind of police action will attract more protests. This isn't being shown on UK news, OK it's a minor story from our point of view but even so.

I don't know that this is going to go anywhere but it might be something. There were several hundred people at West Lake center here in Seattle and about 30 arrests. The mayor and police are not allowing tents to be set up. Many people are interested, but meek and apprehensive/ambivalent.

The media is certainly either undecided to hostile. I fully expect this all to go away when the weather gets bad.

You never know. This is all over the internet, I don't know how widespread internet use is in the states but surely people will start wondering why the mainstream media don't even mention it. Is MSNBC classed as mainstream?

They wouldn't be so smug if the cops weren't there. They know enforcement of public order is what protects them. Its not going to get the attention of anyone capable of changing anything.

So young, so cynical! It's been a constant theme throughout american history (and most other countries come to that) the battle between those who value freedom and liberty and those who just want to get rich and control everything. The latter always lose in the end although it might seem impossible at the time. The internet might be the thing that makes all the difference, this doesn't seem to be on mainstream news much - at least in the UK which you would expect - but it's all over the internet.

I'm overjoyed with this movement. I wasn't sure if Canadian protests would help or if it was jumping a train too soon before it had enough attention of its own but it seems that they are keen to start as many protests across the world as possible so I'm encouraging my daughter to get involved in the Victoria version even though its not a very powerful version.

There is lots of debate over whether or not they should whittle out a list of demands. I'm leaning towards support of just general unrest and demands that politicians admit they are dealing with a broken system. Along the way they might shame millionaires into admitting they are hoarding at the expense of others.

What I'd really like to see is not an ideology but a suggested reading list/viewing list for people who wish to support them. I think it would be beneficial to educate their masses and unify their voices to some degree. I'd recommend reading or watching Manufacturing Consent, The Corporation, Affluenza and the Shock Doctrine but there are a lot of great videos and interviews available online that could help people understand why they are so discontented.

I wouldn't worry too much. Being unemployed and told it's your own fault when you know perfectly well it isn't will politicise the most docile of people.

I guess this is getting pretty widespread. Germany, Italy, England, Canada, America. 100s of places. I wish them the best.

My daughter and I started making t shirts tonight. Hoping for a new slogan every week. She's thinking about starting a group at school.
