So anyway . . . . .

Post by cars »

. . . . . I'm on the Interstate yesterday going 65mph, & low & behold I look to the car on my right there is a woman "TEXTING" & going 65 & swerving. So I speed up to get away from her. Within a mile later, the SOB is behind me now & still texting & doing 70. So I moved over & let the nutjob pass. :wah:

Wonder if she made her destination.

I was texting and walking through the grocery store today, I could see around me with my peripheral vision. This gentleman was in front of me so I stopped and he said "I know how you are - driving while texting" and he kept walking - I laughed it off and thought, at least I didn't run into him???:wah:

Just curious, I wonder why people just don't "talk" on the phone as initially intended, instead of always "texting". If talking, you can keep your eyes looking all around you, instead of having to constantly look down at phone. I don't text at all, (had the function removed from my phone) that's why the question.

I had one of those morons just last week. She was in a little 3 door Hyundai Accent. My truck would flatten that little thing like a cinder block being dropped on a tin tea cup. Some people just don't care.

I prefer to text because talking on the phone irritates me at times. You see people get irritated at people who are talking on their cell phones and especially using their headsets in the grocery store because you aren't paying attention to what you are doing fully. The same argument goes for texting. It doesn't matter what form of communication we use and when we use it, seems its always going to bother someone -so I do what is convenient and hope that others can get over it quickly enough to enjoy life as it is!:-6

I'm sorry..but I firmly believe in a driver concentrating on the road while the vehicle is in motion. Not just the road ahead; the road beside and the road behind. If a driver must text, he/she should pull safely off the road and park. Believe it or not, I passed a female driver reading a newspaper and driving at the same time. What happened to common sense?

Back in 2009 I used to teach driving improvement classes and I loved the part of the class when I asked everyone what they have seen people do while driving that was definitely distracted driving and I usually got the normal answers like: eating, putting on make-up, reading a book or newspaper, texting and talking on phone and even engaging in sexual acts while driving. But the all time air gasper was that a woman was seen breast-feeding her baby while driving...talk about common sense...thats just horrible!

Both hands on the wheel?? Maybe there's a market for baby-shaped webbing.
