The Occupy Movement And Global Change - Be A Part Of It

Post by koan »

Imagine the Occupy Wall Street momentum isn't just a bunch of hippies for a minute. Imagine that it's a culmination of corporate manipulation of the masses, lobby groups, insurance agency rip offs, stock market theft... you know what... I've been ranting about white collar crime for over a decade and the police say they can't stop it. This is the Stop White Collar Crime Movement.

What do you want it to be? It's happening. It's here. This is your chance to improve the world. All you have to do is say something. What words do you choose?

My first words: I want children to have a chance at being an educated adult without massive debt. They deserve to start life with a clean slate. Bail out student debt. Give our children a chance at living.

I think it would be nice to use the same type of system used to build the roads, and electrical lines to rural america in the 1910's to not only get rural America's infrastructure back up to par but get basic coax, and high-speed data lines to communities that are obviously never going to have the per-capita population for a Corporation to be profitable from installing service in their area.

We need to get the money out of politics. Toss out the lobbyists and candidates for office get limited free air time to get their message to the people.

Corporate profits are, ofcourse, good for business and the economy, but, consistent annual "record" profits are suspect and should be investigated....as in our Oil companies.

My second platform, if you will, is that young people can't afford to buy homes. It's outrageous.

I'm fascinated with the variety of spins that are being placed on media coverage. I want to sum up what I've observed but I'm covering vacation shifts right now so will have to wait for a moment of more clarity. Also looking forward to getting the chance to visit our local protest which still seems to have a few campers. I might go to Van to be part of the bigger scene for a weekend or so.

You can't assess use of money by the company profits. Those are after the CEOs and top execs pay themselves both salary and bonuses. There was a horrific document of the bailed out US companies showing how many millions were paid to those folks the same year the Gov't gave them bail out money.

On a quick search of "bailouts bonuses" I found

Nine of the financial firms that were among the largest recipients of federal bailout money paid about 5,000 of their traders and bankers bonuses of more than $1 million apiece for 2008, according to a report released Thursday by Andrew M. Cuomo, the New York attorney general.

Who builds, maintains and pays for your roads your roads and bridges now? Surely it's local authorities and not corporations.

No its more or less contracted corporations paid for by the companies or private owners (alot of times Not even Owned by a U.S citizen) that are given money by the state, federal gov to fix roads, bridges, ect. That is unless it is a highway then you get it from tolls. Telecommunications and the Electric grid on the other hand is completely corporation owned an usually monopolized.
