Any Idea's of who wrote this?.... I know the author but for those who don't know, any Idea's ?

‎"I'm 76 and I'm Tired" I'm 76. Except for brief period in the 50's when I was doing my National Service, I've worked hardsince I was 17. Except for some some serious health challenges, I put in 50-hour weeks, and didn't call in sick in nearly 40 years. I made a reasonable salary, but I didn't inherit my job or my income, and I worked to get where I am. Given the economy, it looks as though retirement was a bad idea, and I'm tired. Very tired. I'm tired of being told that I have to "spread the wealth" to people who don't have my work ethic. I'm tired of being told the government will take the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy to earn it. I'm tired of being told that Islam is a "Religion of Peace," when every day I can read dozens of stories of Muslim men killing their sisters, wives and daughters for their family "honour"; of Muslims rioting over some slight offense; of Muslims murdering Christian and Jews because they aren't "believers"; of Muslims burning schools for girls; of Muslims stoning teenage rape victims to death for "adultery"; of Muslims mutilating the genitals of little girls; all in the name of Allah, because the Qur'an and Shari'a law tells them to. I'm tired of being told that out of "tolerance for other cultures" we must let Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries use our oil money to fund mosques and mandrassa Islamic schools to preach hate in Australia, New Zealand, UK, America and Canada, while no one from these countries are allowed to fund a church, synagogue or religious school in Saudi Arabia or any other Arab country to teach love and tolerance.. I'm tired of being told I must lower my living standard to fight global warming, which no one is allowed to debate. I'm tired of being told that drug addicts have a disease, and I must help support and treat them, and pay for the damage they do. Did a giant germ rush out of a dark alley, grab them, and stuff white powder up their noses or stick a needle in their arm while they tried to fight it off? I'm tired of hearing wealthy athletes, entertainers and politicians of all parties talking about innocent mistakes, stupid mistakes or youthful mistakes, when we all know they think their only mistake was getting caught. I'm tired of people with a sense of entitlement, rich or poor. I'm really tired of people who don't take responsibility for their lives and actions. I'm tired of hearing them blame the government, or discrimination or big-whatever for their problems. I'm also tired and fed up with seeing young men and women in their teens and early 20's bedeck them selves in tattoos and face studs, thereby making themselves un-employable and claiming money from the Government. Yes, I'm damn tired. But I'm also glad to be 76.. Because, mostly, I'm not going to have to see the world these people are making. I'm just sorry for my granddaughter and her children. Thank God I'm on the way out and not on the way in. There is no way this will be widely publicized, unless each of us sends it on! This is your chance to make a difference. " I'm 76 and I'm tired.

Dunno - some bigot obviously.

OK - just googled it and it's a republican senator from Mass. I still say it is a bigoted as it comes.

It's a shame that the author can't speak with some of the 90 year olds on the eldercare ward where I work...they too have had hard lives but their outlooks can be so inspiring :-6

There seems to be a fair bit of doubt as to the genuine author on the net. Some are taking credit, some are denying.

Looking at it, it's actually quite clever - the way it starts with a fairly standard call to the work ethic before morphing into a racist chant lulls people into thinking it's reasonable.

Looking at it again it's even more manufactured than I thought. It uses an American diatribe against the Democrats to provide the lead in to a NF diatribe against Islam.

Where on Earth do you get this rubbish Oscar?

I was Interested In what others thought of It.... never said I agreed with It.

I agree with you... It starts off with something you can identify with, National service, working hard etc and then hits you with the rest until you are thinking WTF ?

I can be a contrary SOB I know.........but seriously it's a rant.

He goes over the top, but many of the concerns are real for many people.

Calling it a rant implies that it was written as a piece to express an opinion. Looking at it an seeing its history as it was changed from one situation to another to another it is far worse than that. It is a text painstakingly put together to manipulate people using just enough real concerns to trigger the reactions they want and then piggybacking on those reactions to push whatever message the current users want to push.

This version is being used by the National Front, the last version was used by the Republicans, the version before that passed me by because I didn't recognise the issuers they were pushing.

There's a simple test. Where's the earliest copy.

I make it The Old Jarhead: I'm Tired--some updates - a blogger, not a US lawmaker, not a comedian.

Who can find an earlier version?

No mistaking the spelling of "offense".

So......stripped of the emotive twaddle, who can disagree that the basic list is cause for concern/discussion ?

Wouldn't mind betting there is a thread to cover most of them on this very forum.

I can see nothing in the original blog which oscar reproduced that anyone could reasonably take exception to. Why are we meant to object?

We never got this thread as far as asking oscar what the answer to "Any Idea's of who wrote this?.... I know the author" was. Who's the author, oscar?

The piece was attributed to Bill Crosby. Had you red my second post In response to Bryn, you would have seen this. As I said In that post, after It was attributed to Bill Crosby, I did some looking and found many claiming credit and others denying writing It. Bryn actually came up with what appears to be the correct author. May I suggest you reed thread In before posting questions that have already been covered,

I did reed it carefully, that's why I asked. There's nothing in your subsequent posts which suggests you were stepping back from "I know the author".

If you mean Bryn's senator, I'd not believe that for a moment.

Are you saying you've no likely contender at all, oscar? I was hoping you were keeping a revelation up your sleeve. Why on earth did you bother opening the thread if you've no notion?
