Asked during his interview, what he would do with strikers, Clarkson, 51, replied: "I would have them all shot".

He added: "I would take them outside and execute them in front of their families.

"I mean how dare they go on strike when they have these gilt-edged pensions that are going to be guaranteed, while the rest of us have to work for a living."

The man can be totally obnoxious, but it is said with tongue firmly in cheek, why the outcry ?

Maybe because, tongue in cheek or not, he's speaking from a very privileged and wealthy position.

Anyone who doesn't grasp that Clarkson Is a knob of the highest degree and he makes broad statements to shock and get publicity needs taking outside and shooting.

I did have a wee spark of satisfaction when my lawyer happened to be representing him around the same time as me. Clarkson had made some obnoxious comments about Foxes and I was assured If I wrote to him, the letter, which Included the words Tosser, Wanker and Arssehole, would be given to him. I was told It had Indeed been given to him.

I find him bumptious cocksure and arrogant, but enjoy his banter very much.

He is an entertainer, he entertains.

Have you ever watched Frankie Boyle ?

They are both out to shock, by being shocked you are helping the sales of his latest book or DVD.

To be fair, I've just seen that part of the interview in full on the news...he made the comment to balance his previous comment...I thought it stood alone, but it didn't.

Some people perhaps are either just not familiar with his particular brand of humour or want something to get irate about. When you watch the full thing it is clearly tongue in cheek.

I saw one of the presenters on sKy news -james whale I think it was suggesting he go down to the occupy london protest and "sort them out" That was i think a more serious incitement to violence, fascist thug springs to mind, wonder of we will see Blackshirts appearing in the near future.
