hello and good evening

lord grumpy here reporting from grumpy towers lady grumpy is in bed with a book and im sat with a nice cup of tea bashing out another story

so settle down with another installment of the AA grumpy column

( any tea left in the pot grumps? ED )

THIS is the shocking moment a heartless thief appears to steal flowers from the grave of a tragic schoolboy.

Relatives of the 11-year-old — who was killed by a car in 1980 — installed a CCTV camera at his final resting place after a string of thefts at the cemetery.

And they were left horrified when footage seemed to show a callous woman kneeling beside the youngster's grave, in Barking, Essex, before putting flower pots in a bag and walking off.

Cabbie Steve Rose, 37, put the camera in a tree as a last resort after noticing ornaments had vanished almost every fortnight in the past 18 months from his cousin's grave.

Steve, of Walthamstow, North London, said: "I was only six when he died.

"My aunt, who died two years ago, never got over it. That's why it's such a terrible thing for us."

Cops are now hunting the woman and appealing for any information.

The devastated family released CCTV images of the cruel act in a bid to track down the woman.

Steve added: "It's terrible that someone would do this. It's just awful. It was happening so often, as fast as we were putting flowers down they were disappearing.

"We have left signs asking they stop stealing but that didn't deter them. It's just callous."

Barking and Dagenham council, which runs Rippleside Cemetery, allowed Robert's grieving family to use the secret camera — usually used to watch wildlife — but said thefts were "rare".
