What did you do today? The first day of 2012. I shared in a magical day of spreading 2012 good wishes.
New Year Day
New Year Day
These are luminaries.
What I did today was celebrate a new year and spread as much of an upbeat attitude and a new breath of fresh air with my fellow neighbors as we placed thousand of luminary bags. Simple white bags filled with a little sand and then a white votive. After dusk we all return to start lighting the candles. My neighborhood streets are lined with these luminous bags bringing light. The message is one of a brighter, better year sharing the blessing of hope and happiness and a nice touch is doing it with others who live right where you do and feel the same.
There is this very peaceful feeling that comes over you as you walk down the sidewalk later that night.
May 2012 bring the light of health, love, friendship, to all here at The Gardens.

The peacefulness comes through in the photos, Lady J ... very nice! If only we could find a way to keep that feeling consistent throughout the remaining 364 days ... if only indeed! As they say, one day at at time ... right?

It isn't New Year's Day that is different but Christmas Day - all other days are consistent as we are told be he who must be listened to :-
On christmas day you can't get sore,
Your fellow man you must adore,
There's time to rob him all the more
The other three hundred and sixty-four.
More seriously, go to it LadyJ - spread the light, we certainly need it.
