Scariest moment for a callcenteragent

Post by Chloe_88 »

This is what happend on my friday night shift:

You can hear heavy breathing on the other end of the phone.

It continues for a whole minute.

You hear someone cry out: oooohhh please please help me!

Then the connection breaks

You try and phone the person back, but no answer

What do you do? With the number in my display, I tried to track down the persons address.

The next thing you know your colleague is sitting there with a big smile on his face, whilst you're sweating like hell

The lady that phoned us had a hearing aid. It sometimes interrupts with the phone connection with the result that she could not hear the other person on the phone. She was just checking if her TV bill was on the way already..

The first thing I did after this was get myself a coffee to calm down..

I got very annoyed at a heavy breather who rang me late one night. I hung up on them several times before I realised It was my Mother having an asthma attack.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them. R.L. Binyon

If I ever say "oooh, oh, please help me" to a tv agent I'll cancel my cable immediately thereafter.

My internet provider, on the other hand... I'm far more likely to use foul language if things seem astray.

As far as heavy breathing goes, I blame unconsciousness and muscle relaxants.

Go on pick on the elderly deaf people why don't you. A responsible phone company would be able to advise her on how to sort the problem.

hahaha! If I had trouble hearing someone on the phone, I'd probably drop the ef bomb. "What the blank is wrong with this blanking phone? Blank!" Okay, I'm not quite that bad but I wouldn't sound like David Hedison from The Fly either.

Only if someone has the gumption to complain to them that there's a problem. How else are they to know.

**** happens. She knew her hearing aid was going on the blink and apologized to my colleague for the "strange" conversation she had with me. Apparently she was waiting for her new hearing aid.. Her phone provider disconnecting her for that, would seem very harsh.

Harsh is good, it keeps people on their toes.
