Anyone who is anyone on FG should by now know exactly what I am all about. I sort of wear my heart on my sleeve most of the time. I have been around the block a couple of times and then some.

I dwell in the past ... I inhabit the lonely parts of life, the shadows, the dark recesses which have long ago passed us by and which will never ever come around again.

A very wise man once asked me this question: "Why do you continually look behind you? You are like the man who uses a canoe to ferry him across the river and then instead of leaving it behind, carries it on his back for the rest of his journey."

I guess I was born twenty or thirty years too late.

The next time you're In England I shall arrange with one of The Dartmoor Ghillie's who loans my husband his Lodge for fishing trips to let us use It for a few days. It's remote, you can't even get a phone signal up there. I've made the trip twice and the wildlife Is well worth the Isolation.

Well, I don't really know you, but I definitely get a cozy feeling when I'm with you. Maybe you bring the canoe because the load is light & you are pretty sure you will need it again. You're a warm, comfy person Mr. Jones.

I just remembered. Where you say: "guess I was born twenty or thirty years too late."

When I had asked you if your picture was a son or grandchild it was because I thought you were an older man than I now realize you are.

Why are you The Chosen? Are you Jewish? What are you chosen for?

No not Jewish ... My avatar before this one had "The Chosen" printed under the picture. I now use it as a kinda "arrogant" byline just to annoy some members.

I love that story...I read something similar some years ago about two Buddhist monks and I found it very inspiring.

I fear my journal has ever so slightly mislead you Anne .... My mother's parents and family are from New York and I lived there a while and have returned for visits. However I consider myself an American thru and thru.

Of course that does not make me any less fascinating!

A lonely night alone with Oscar on the moors, hound of the oscarvilles how about that for a working title? You may be the chosen but oscar is a right one

Does anyone know why I can't use smileys in my replies? Imagine if you will after the first paragraph someone screaming in terror, after the question mark falling about laughing and at the end laughing even louder, although a right one may be a british turn of phrase where the humour might be lost across the pond.

Right one as In Far Right One I hope.

Your just jealous.

I shall make It an experience for JJ....

I would have offered you the experience only you'd spend the entire trip tossing cabers, munching heather and bothering pheasants.

Go to 'settings' (top right hand side of the page), then under 'general settings' (left hand side of the page) scroll down and find 'date and time options' that's where you set your time zone :)

You got one of those consumer surveys too? Being chosen ****in' sucks. They call and threaten you if you don't fill it out, too.
