I Think This Is Why We Are So Unhappy!

Post by jones jones »

And so when you get out of bed tomorrow morning, what do you expect is gonna happen? Like your life is gonna change? Noooooooooooooo, Like you are gonna be somewhere else? Nooooooooooooo, Like you are gonna be rich, famous? Nooooooooooooooo.

You are gonna be you … well unless you caught the Lotto!

So are you happy with your life? I mean like when the alarm clock goes buuuuuuuuuuzzzzzzzzzzz! Do you jump out of bed and go: “Whooooooohoooooo! Another day has dawned and I am sooooooo happeeeeeeeeee?

Most of us don’t … I for one. So we get up, have something to eat, go to work etc etc etc. So why don’t we say: "Eff this! I wanna go to Hollywood … I wanna go to New York … I wanna go live in the desert like a hippie?"

So why don’t we?

You tell me.

I am not a "morning person", so it take me awhile to wake up and when I do come to my senses, I find that I am happy. I have no desire to go to Hollywood, or New York, or the middle of some desert somewhere. My happiness is here, where I live right now.

There are such really god awful alternative options to what the day I am looking at could encompass that I'm generally more than happy to deal with my routine.
I expressly forbid the use of any of my posts anywhere outside of FG (with the exception of the incredibly witty 'get a room already' )posted recently.

Folks who'd like to copy my intellectual work should expect to pay me for it.:-6

For me the happiest moment is when I first wake up, before my thoughts kick in and before I put my ego on again...it's so full of nothing it's beautiful.

Unhappy??? Me?? No way---- I am ecstatic-----it is now 7 AM here in Mapua New Zealand and I have just had a Spa Whirlpool outdoor dunking while looking out at gorgeous scenery swathed in broad sunlight. Having just finished my second cup of coffee, oatmeal and pitted prunes I am ready for the day. My day will consist of first taking a long walk and then coming back to the cottage to select things that I will be taking to the Cook Islands on Wednesday. We will spend two weeks in Rarotongae with six days on the island of Aiutaki where we will scuba and snorkel and then back to NZ until the 2nd of March at which time we will go back to California. I may go to a movie this afternoon or play a bit of golf. Depends on my mood after lunch. Despite an aging body with increasingly stiff joints, I'm alive and life is good.

In my case it is because I already was 20 years old. I don't have the buying power I once had, or the energy. It would be so burdensome in present circumstances I am glad I can say "Been there Done that". I have the memories of it at least. I don't know how old you are, but I'll guess you are not happily encumbered by little ones. It's ok to sometimes be restless, frustrated even.

Besides, I already am in New York.

I heard an old wives tale once that some Irony had been taken aboard an Atlantic crossing. Apparently a emigrating Irish family took the small sample of Irony with them hoping to Integrate the little fella Into American society. Not sure what happened, I'll ask around.

Well, in our defence you guys dress them up as well, and then pack them away.

Well, gee, I dunno.

I went to Hollywood. I went to New York.

Joined up with a Biker Gang.

I went out in the desert and lived like a hippie. Went up in the high Rockies, and lived like a hippie.

Hung out a at Big Sur.

Sailed the Caribbean.

Now I got this job where I get to travel around, meet new people, play with computers, have a lot of fun, and they put money in my bank account every couple of weeks. And I never need an alarm.

Change? No thanks. I'm good.
