Think of JJ as a Peacock and his posts as his colorful feathers and then it's easy to see why his Peahens run to him. The peahens are being manipulated, the rest of us are here reminding both that they're not peacocks and peahens, they are in fact human.

@YZGI

I will refer you to your previous post prior to my post and agree.......................went right over my head.

I do post with my tongue firmly in my cheek, at times, it is called dry humour, I should learn to add smileys so as not to cause confusion.

Agatha Christie's heroine, Miss Marple, thought that wherever one goes people are essentially the same, & people could fit into types based on their resemblance to each other. Taking this as fact, & out of experience I tend to, I notice on forums there is usually a man that other men dislike. The other men work to tear down this man, & in doing so, belittle the women who seem not to dislike the one man. Usually, the men decry the "fact" that the women are somehow being used, or scammed by the man. Women need protection after all, as in the quote above they know not their own minds. How gallant!

Incidentally Anne, you're unaware of JJ's history. Let us all know when you begin receiving his pms

You folks really need to either grow up or get a life. I don’t understand why humans ( I’m not sure if that what some of you really are:confused:) intentionally try to manipulate other people’s emotional equilibrium with your offensive or superfluous posts and messages in order to provoke a response.

Thus this being a good example of lack of moderation in a forum.

Well JJ and I are done with this one……we have better things to spend our energies on :-4so you all can keep at it as long as you like.:wah:

I see some of the stuff that has been put in this thread and it makes me wish I was still an "active" moderator. I know some people here seem to have a thing for JJ bashing......I don't get it. JJ and I have been friends for a long time, we have had our ups and downs but we talked it out, apologies were made for the past......and we are good! :) I am a believer of letting by gones be by gones and giving people a second chance......in my opinion unless he's breaking a rule....leave him alone!!!! I hate to see people who just follow someone around making rude remarks in their threads just for the fun of it......I've always thought if you don't like somebody...stay away from them!!!......anyway.....big ((((((((HUG)))))) for ya JJ! :)

Thus this being a good example of lack of moderation in a forum. I think it's a brilliant example of why we don't need moderators prodding everyone with a stick before they've had a chance to even offend anyone.

I think people lose touch with reality on forums making them overly sensitive and I also think it's one big load of cry baby garbage...Is someone's feelings honestly hurt here or should we continue this show boating circus?

Actually, I have muffins as well

That's a really nice post Hope.

Anyone whining In this thread should note that they could have just left the OP as It was.... a debate on different forms of moderation. Instead, assumptions, second guessing and reading between the lines leads to this.

JJ far from being a blight on this forum In my and others opinion Is a valued member. I have often logged on In the afternoon and there has been nil new posts until JJ logs on. Many days, It Is him that has kept this forum going.

I think the point can best be expressed by considering just how defensive some can be and the drama that follows it is exactly why less "moderation" leads to less conflict and ultimately less headache for both the forum and it's members...

Whether people like to admit it or not anyone wishing for more moderator action has lost all faith in the civility of forum etiquette and reflects their view of the members of that community.

Well what a carry on, what drama :-3 (For emphasis)

I shall go with my gut feeling, sit back and enjoy from the sidelines, may or may not join in.

Sometimes I wish I was more articulate, to expand on my misgivings, my gut feelings, but if I could they would be more than gut feelings......wouldn't they ?

I shall have a strong black coffee and a few digestives Mcvitie's................ of course and back away.

I like the moderation just the way it is. I've probably received the most infractions of anyone here, frequently for my mere presence and this form of moderation is greatly appreciated by me.

I like it the way it is too. I like it that you're back :) The best thing about the current moderation here nowadays is that when I pop in at different times of the day I haven't got to wade my way through millions of reported posts before I can even look at the rest of the forum. It's funny, since the lighter moderation policy there are less reported posts. It's great as I haven't got to decide who is the baddy and who is the goody, cos let's face it, the people that are falling out with each other are generally just as bad as each other :-2

It also occurs to me that the one's falling out all the time are incredibly similar to one another :wah:

picking a walk away point is the trick.

I was done when someone claimed "I totally agree with you" means they disagree. At that point it's not longer worth discussing.

That's my official notice that my work is done here.

You are rather contradicting yourself throughout dearie.

We all walked away long before you came back with this post. It seems It Is you who can not leave It alone and walk away.

You have stated that you don't do the ' PM ' thing yet you state receiving PM's telling you to stand up to the bully... I'm guessing you would have replied so you do actually do 'The PM thing'

If you are complaining about being bullied, why state you are 'A hard arsse' In another thread on this forum?

When you cease to contradict yourself throughout, you may be In a position to critisise others.

As It happens Koan, I fully understand what Is Involved with Moderation. My husbands forum for Angers Is downright vicious compared to this. You have no Idea how grown men will fall out over the size of a Barbel. There was one night, even the police had to be contacted after one physically threatened another.

But If any moderator expresses such anger at the role as you have In this thread, then It begs the question 'Why do It'..... If you are the hard arsse you claim to be Koan, why are you bitchin and moaning here ? Why keep coming back for more as In this post?
