I had a friend who was gay, when asked why he was growing a beard he said it was because he was always being told he was a useless ----- so he thought he may as well look the part. The image was too graphic I've never been able to take anyone with a beard seriously ever since, especially the hairy biker types at harley davidson meets that look like village people fans on a day out.
