As much as I disagree with you on some things, I really do agree with you on this one. It just makes sense, racism dies in the light of reason and flourishes in ignorance. As does hatred. The (extreme) right wing puts out both those messages. for example, I saw a bumper sticker the other day that said, "Impeach the Muslim" referring the majority elected President Obama and combining hatred and racism in one short statement.

Over the years, the most racist children I have dealt with, (and there have been some real doozies), have been, almost without exception, the children of extreme right wing parents.

I'd also say that politics is the effect of the public and not the cause, which means those children that grow up ignorant are voted in to office by the very same idiots that wade in the same stink whole.

Does this mean if you are super intelligent, then you cannot be racist ?

And does the opposite apply, if you are pig ignorant, does that mean you are racist ?

If the racists are not that clever, why have they had the upper hand for so long ?

Were the people that framed the Poll clever liberals or stupid racists, or indeed clever racists or stupid liberals.....with an agenda ?

Were the people that framed the Poll clever liberals or stupid racists, or indeed clever racists or stupid liberals.....with an agenda ?I'd say the study stems from the premise, of which I agree with, that people can only be as intelligent as they are ethical, civil, and empathetic toward all of mankind(or all living creatures to make a point) as compared with a complete reverse understanding of what may be defined as "intelligent" when not considering the ultimate goal of the majority(which goes far beyond any flag).

This is hogwash.

Some of the most racist people I have ever met were highly intelligent, raised in very good environments and educated in some of the best schools in the world.

While pedestrian class bigotry might find a very comfy home among the bottom feeders of society, it takes real smarts to become a world-class racist.

And there are plenty of ignorant racist liberals out in the world, as well.

Well, there is some logic to it, I have to admit. The high-end rhetoric that attracts the liberal-minded folks goes over the heads of my brethren on the right.

People who are less intelligent are more likely to simply parrot the stuff they hear the most, and our right-wing brethren have seemed to be the more vocal, of late.

There is more Rush and Beck on the airwaves than Moyers or Rose.

I've been "right wing" most of my voting life but only because it's the closest thing to anarchy that was on the ballot. Not sure what that makes me. I voted Green in the last election and might try to organize a movement to eliminate the party system all together. Not making much progress in eliminating the Queen yet so it might take a decade or so.

Every American should fell obligated to watch this film to see just how dangerously close we were to what I can only imagine would have been a complete destruction of America. There are different types of intelligence. Palin/McCain are sure smart when it comes to taking care of themselves. They are smart enough to have millions of followers; and smart enough to make a ton of dough.

I tried to watch Game Change but I just couldn't get into it. Probably because I know the story so well, & have so much knowlege of what is in the book of the same name. I would have enjoyed it more if Tina Fey played Palin!

"IQ" is misleading in and of itself, I'd much rather use the word self absorbed, self righteous, and equally ignorant to the bigger picture than to horde one's own Earthly possessions. The right in this country is steering toward extremism and rush limbaugh is as good of an example as any, although I'd say Sarah Palin, while perhaps a fantastic hockey mom and small town girl, sums up politics of today.

I'd went through our local drive-through and talked to the (insert job title here) and I'd asked what he was going to school for(I live in a rural village of which the entire city is comprised of a university) and he told me he was majoring in Russian language and Eastern European culture. I thought it was neat...But overall I suppose it wasn't his African ethnicity that shocked me as much as his entire goal of "wanting to leave the country"...

I thought the thing to do would be to make a change but apparently he thought we were far beyond that already :yh_rotfl
