The Bible shifted some Gears in my mind.

God is " Faithful", meaning he keeps his word and he can be trusted to do whats right for all of humanity. This attribute of God gives me the assurance I have concerning Universal Salvation, I am assured not because of my beliefs, I am severely limited, but because of Gods beliefs I can be confident because of his Faithfulness. God invested the life of his Son in our Salvation; and there could be no greater investment, because God himself couldnot have died for us, because he cannot die, absolute proof that Jesus is not God, because Jesus died once. ( in one sense he died twice; the reduction from being second in command in the Spirit world, to now becomming a human fetus inside of a humans womb; I think was a type of death.)

God is " Gentle;" he is Noble and Mild Mannered, he is not given to temper tantrums. God is Kind and Considerate , and is in no manner a bully.

God has absolutely perfect control of himself, AND, everythingelse! Only what he wants to happen can occur in reality. God is not given to hissy fits and he does not loose his temperment. This is WHY all of humanity is perfectly safe and our destiny cannot be altered by anything but God. We are VERY fortunate of this!

But who knows how many will not be in the kingdom? no one said it would be the majority by amy means and Christianity is increasing at an incredible rate even in muslim countries. I fact if we look around the world today non beliers are in a distinct minority it is only really europe and a few eastern states of america eg. new york and the new york times who are believers in athiesm

In my view, everyone will be in the kingdom, and that will have nothing to do with christianity. Christianity has nothing to do with salvation, nothing to do with Gods plans, and had nothing to do with Jesus death.

I already have forgiveness of my sins, as I believe all of humanity does; but I honestly don't know how to rush God and get things before my time. The calling of God is a matter of time; and I do hope I am to get to know Christ;

You are quite correct that it is up to God when but also know that it is when you are hungry enough for truth that God recognises your heart is ready. It is also the case that to really understand the Bible one needs the gift of the Holy spirit inside onself which gives wisdom.

there is a man on you tune who is an engineer and talks about the science of the big bang and compares it with the creatiobn account, He is a good example of an annointed man today. here is the link for it: Chuck Missler Genesis Session 01 Ch 1 1 Introduction - YouTube

There is also a gifted younf man who goes by te name of venomfangx on you tube who understands how to see Jesus in the book of genesis just type into you tube "Jesus and genesis" and you will see his video which is a mere ten minutes but he is clearly an intellectual too.

best of all is William Lane Craig who debates with the likes of Richard dawkins and canes them easily. he debates in university circuits too includng oxford in England and he is on you tune, reasonablefaith.org and bethinking.org.

Do you know Misler has lots of vidoes on you tube regarding the Bible. Also if you type Willima lane craig into bethinking.org,s serach bar you can see/ listen to lots of debates between him and athiests as well as with muslims and humanists too.

The bible can be interpited in many ways, according to the person reading it. The book is obviously historical and relevant in every age its been in.

I would say that God obviously had something to do with it being written. It has most defintely shifted some gears in my mind.

I do not believe in the trinity, I believe there is only one God.

And I do think Jesus has defeated the works of the devil, and has sealed the salvation of all of humanity.

How many humans would defy God and disagree with his rule? Just think, the book of Revelations speaks of such a thing; the doubters and unbelievers who shouted for proof, still will reject God in reality to his face! Just naturally against there being a God, still wouldnot submit to his reality.

The consciousness of humanity is still evolving, physically our evolution is reserved and reclining. Evolution was incorporated by God mostly in primordal man , and was largely discontinued physically when primordal man was discontinued. That was a definte shifting of gears in Gods mind.

In my eyes it provides obvious moral truth, historical truth, truth on human nature , truth on family life, truth on the hature of good and evil. Its not a " Normal book" by any intellectual standard. Barring the obvious Atheist prejudice, if one simply looked at the facts; the book stands in a class all alone.

It has been a worlds best seller for over 400 years running- no other book has come even close.

It was one of the first books ever printed.

It was written in three different languages, on three different continents.

It has over 40 authors.

It took 1500 years to even write it.

There are 50 bibles sold every minute.

Even the common theif reveres the book, its the worlds most shoplifted book.

Kings, Presidents and Princes are sworn into office with it.

People are sworn into court with it.

Hotels and Motels leave one in their rooms to please their customers.

All this speaks for itself, the cynics cannot reduce this obvious power and influence.

Oh theres tons of historical proof, your just absoultely not aware of it, or not consciously able to accept it. I personally have over two hundred historical proofs of the bible, confirmed by outside sources; Heres just a few;

The campaign into Israel by Pharaoh Shishak ( 1 Kings 14:25-26), recorded on the walls of the Temple of Amun in Thebes, Egypt.

The revolt of Moab against Israel ( 2 Kings 1:1, 3:4-27), recorded on the Mesha Inscription.

The fall of Samaria ( 2 Kings 17:3-6,24; 18:9-11) to Sargon II, king of Assyria, as recorded on his palace walls.

The campaign of the Assyrian king Sennacherib against Judah ( 2 Kings 18:13-16), as recorded on the Taylor Prism.

That hits the wall for example where the Jews are recorded as having been a slave nation, where no such records exist in other cultures. There are, of course, historical facts from that time that are reflected in all sorts of writings, including holy books.

There is a history buff, her name is Tracy Harris, she is (used to be?) a co-host of "The Atheist Experience" TV show, there is an episode that might interest both theists and atheists - i think it was worded "historicity of the bible", with true and false facts found in the scriptures about events of their time. Look on youtube, it should be there. They put all episodes online.

The bible is by far not historical, in fact, there are only a handful of names that are gotten right, the pharaohs are mistaken in their days of rule (names do not match the time of rule, as the Egyptians were meticulously precise in documenting such things), the fact that the jews were never slaves to Egypt, Sodom and Gomorrah never existed, only scarce historical facts are actually more or less accurate. This does not make the book accurate, but only makes it to have some facts straight. You should remember that some of these events were in fact notable for the region at the time of writing, it makes sense to be mentioned with some degree of precision, and even nailing correct names of some rulers and notable events like fall of cities during the period.

It goes back 6000 years, where the earliest human artifacts are dated to be more than 30,000 years old. It mentions cities that never existed, flood that never happened, first man and woman, etc. I am afraid you are mistaken if you take this to be a historical fact.

In history we have archaeology as a window of the past. Lets imagine that we come into a city settlement and view just the archetexture of the buildings in that city; in archaeology we have seen ordinary houses and buildings grouped around one larger and more magnificent dwelling. We would immediately assume that the large magnificent dwelling was the house of the prince who ruled there. And we might be right, but in the case of older civilizations, we wouldnot be right all the time. Most of those superior dwellings were actually built to be " Houses of the gods!" Religion actually influenced Architecture and that shifted gears in how we built things, even to this very day!

The church or temple was always superior and surrounded by lesser houses and shops, which was a precurssor to the comming bible that men waited on. After the old testement was written, the church, temple or mosque was still called the house of God. In it, men spoke to the god, still brought offerings and sought guidance that influenced the very building and framing of all citys and buildings to this very day!

This is historical fact and the bible was influintial in these momentus building movements.
