Definitely sounds like he aimed himself to the only soft patch in the area. Don't high rises have screens on their windows? Bugs still fly that high, don't they?

Something similar happened before my very eyes some years back.

I was day dreaming out of my office window and I saw a cat on a ledge about 10 flights up. Suddenly he fell. I was horrified and was waiting for the splat as he hit the pavement.

He did a few 90 degree turns mid air and landed on the pavement completely unharmed.

He then did that embarrassment thing of looking around to see If any of his kitty pals had seen him, dusted himself off and strolled off with that ' Am I bothered ?' look on his face,
