Has your doctor said what kind it is? I know it may sound

scary but many people live normal life span.

I have what is called an "innocent" one and the cardiologist

said "You will live forever, I am telling you this"! ha ha, very

nice man.

I forget for very long stretches that I even have it, doesn't

interfere with my physical fitness at all.

Take a deep breath!

Anybody Know Anything About a Heart Murmor?

A lot of people have some sort of heart murmur. It usually means that a valve is leaking a bit. It can be serious, but it can be no real problem.

My wife has one. Some times I can hear it. The doctors are never very concerned with it.

Don't panic, but listen to what the doctor has to say about it.

My main concern and the doctors too was why no one had told me about it before, it makes me think it's something new.

Jacob was born with one, but it went away by the time he was a week old. I think one's that people are born with are generally not a problem but I dont know if I was born with mine or if it's something new.

In the meantime, A functional murmur or "physiologic murmur" is a heart murmur that is primarily due to physiologic conditions outside the heart, as opposed to structural defects in the heart itself. Functional murmurs are benign (an "innocent murmur").
