It's a universal principle of evolution that whenever you reach a point where moving further West would get you submerged, there's a trattoria or bar of some sort. I've never known the rule to fail. Magellan noted it, Cook and Drake relied on it when supplies ran low, even Wellington set up his base camps north of Lisbon for the same reason. Speaking of which, I hope you've visited at least one Napoleonic battlefield nearby.

Chuckle. Last time I was at Land's End they also had a Bouncy Castle and an extra big slide with an extended family of Hasidic Jews having a great time. The delightful picture of a portly middle-aged bearded man hurtling down the slide clutching his hat, legs, beard, bobs and tassles going in all directions, is one that has reliably made me smile every time I recall it! :)
