About the rain.
Look I don't mind a little bit, It's good for the garden but this Is now ridiculous.
My grass has grown 3 Inches since the last time I was able to get out and cut It.
Interaction with my Urban Foxes Is non existent as they are all sheltering In garages and under my car.
My car became flooded... yes, flooded. I found water In the footwell.
The field outside my home and countryside Is a quagmire meaning dogs must be bathed before re-entering the lounge.
I've had to buy a new litter tray for the cat on refusal to do anything more than poke a cautious glance out the door.
My electricity bill Is soaring due to usage of the tumble dryer over the washing line.
And I fear for my trip to Royal Ascot Saturday to see Black Caviar.
Now... who do I write to ?

She thoroughly enjoyed Peter Pan, at least no one was at risk of sun stroke as they have been in past years.

oooh the webcams are still on, I'd thought they'd switch them off once a performance starts. No sound mind :wah:
You may notice it's brighter too, we have blue skies to end the day with, let's hope it lasts, big weekend for our town this weekend and we need the good weather to make it brilliant!

Send some our way! We've been in drought conditions for I don't know how long. I'm only allowed to waster the lawn or wash the car on Tuesdays between 3 & 8am or 8 & 10 pm.

We can now officially use hoses to water our water logged lawns......last week we were in drought.
I thought I knew more than this until I opened my mouth

Officials declared drought conditions In some parts of England a few months ago and we've had those restrictions lifted now.
I don't mind a few days of rain but this Is relentless, day after day after day.

Watch out for the big gotcha when the drought is over. A common tactic in California is to restructure the water bills so that you pay a penalty based on the changes from the previous year. Thus, those that cooperated with the call to reduce usage are penalized while those who ignored it and wasted water are rewarded. I've been burned by that a couple of times.

A beautiful day here on Tuesday. My youngest granddaughter and I went to the park and I promised her the same today.
Huh! Instead, we spent a couple of drizzly hours feeding the ducks and throwing wet seaweed around on a dismal looking beach.

Stop complaining about the rain all it does is attract the attention of the rain gods. Have you ever noticed that when you are with someone who is foolish enough to comment that it looks as if it might rain it always does? Never wear sunglasses unless there are no clouds (that's where they live don't you know) that is just really asking for it. Be happy you don't have to bother cutting the grass today.

Actually I was thinking of you just before I went to bed last night. Not In a ' ooo err Mrs ' kind of way. But there was something on the news about Scotland being on flood alert.
Apparently, we've had a month of rain In one week.
Another day here absolutely persisting down.

Not just us Yorkshire has had it pretty bad.
BBC News - Flooding hits northern England after torrential rain
All those clever dicks that made fun of environmentalists for pointing out building on flood plains was perhaps not sensible and that some land management practices would have long term consequences are now being very quiet about it. I hope the insurance companies start refusing to insure new houses still being built

I actually hung washing out, and guess what, it was actually dry when I picked it in again! That hasn't happened in a while.
I've been out and stamped on all the fern that is always taking over my garden.

Yes... It's a sideline.
I also managed to get the towels and bedding on the line. It was dry by 2 pm and It hasn't rained here at all today.
Wish I had fern... I got that sticky weed that sticks to everything.

It has been in some parts of the state, as well as Kansas, and Oklahoma.
A few weeks ago, we were driving through Kansas. A 30 mph crosswind and 120 f temps made the day very uncomfortable.
We turned North and went to Kearney, Nebraska, where it was a cool 104 f. with trees to block the wind. Much nicer. We will plan our routes through Nebraska, from now on, I think.
The clouds are building over the mountains, now, and moving eastward. Perhaps today we see a bit of rain.
(Of course we have been saying that ever day since June.)

Driving home from dinner, we actually got several rain drops on the windshield.
Usually we see what they call 'virga".
The rain falls from the clouds and it looks like a nice downpour is headed our way, but it evaporates several hundred feet before it finds the ground.
