We all know that facebook friends repost or copy stories without checking their sources but... really?

I was told recently that Iceland overthrew their government and the civilian people took back control of their country through peaceful revolution.

Short story: bullshit

Not that Iceland isn't doing great things. Maybe they are.

I'm just saying that the internet news revolution is a good thing unless we turn it into a piece of unreliable shite... or allow shite-disturbers to turn it into a unreliable source of "enquiring minds"

Those guys had to get the bullsh!t from somewhere else before they posted it on facebook.

Besides, THIS GUY (link) hasn't heard about the Iclandic government being overthrown

Why do so many Americans appear to believe theirs is the only country with a democratic form of government? Why would these people believe iceland was a military dictatorship - surely anyone with half a brain and a computer would look it up. Maybe they think it was a result of the cod wars between iceland and britain.

With half a brain, you find all sorts of information on the web.

It takes the other half a brain to sort it all out.
