Far too often when we were young.

I suspect that he meant anyone, from any country, from any part of the world.

There's no sense even noticing you exist, these days. Stab away, it makes no odds to me. You're lying again. What I quoted was the post you made In response to Bruv's.

On the contrary, quite the reverse. I think there are far too many Americans who believe the rest of the world's populated by a different breed/species who are less humane and have no compassion, feelings or remorse. I think they urgently need bringing to a sense of reality.

Whatever Spot... squirm and wriggle all you like. You are offensive and I'm leaving you to talk to yourself again.

The thread had been getting somewhere, then the bickering starts. Even odder is the fact oscar congratulated accountable on his comment about not posting at spot yet she finds herself here virtually every other post after. You either agree with accountable or you don't, your actions give the opposite impression to the congratulation.

Stop calling names and if you have a genuine question, aimed at getting to the bottom of spot's agenda then ask it, if all you want to do is keep calling him a liar then go do it somewhere else.

Interesting Betty... I see no such quick defense from you when It's Spot calling other members a liar.

However I agree about the bickering. Other members have posted In this thread yet again, It appears my posts are that of which Spot chooses to hone In on. Are you suggesting that I do not respond?

I came In on this thread because Spot stated that he had seen no newspaper or BBC coverage of the anniversary. I believe that I was correct In pointing out that his Ignrance was due to either lack of research or a deliberate attempt to mislead members who did not research themselves... that In a nutshell Is the Issue Spot has. To provide links showing that not only the BBC but newspapers had covered the anniversary, Is not bickering. It Is no more than Spot would do himself should any other member write such untruths.

It's instances like this which is where my accusation of you mimicking spot comes from, you're trying to copy his behaviour to others as perceived by you. It's tediously boring. Did you seriously expect spot not to respond, it's a thread he started after all. The point is he didn't see anything, actually, I didn't come across anything on the BBC nor the Guardian when I read the news either. But, that is all just trivial tit tat compared to the actual subject matter of the thread.

If I'm involved in a thread where I see anyone call someone out and they've got it wrong, and I'd done the thorough research to know they've got something wrong I'd be pointing it out, whether that person is you, accountable, theia or spot. What I wouldn't do is call someone a liar. It's far easier to say, sorry but here's my evidence and I think you are wrong, it's forum and real life etiquette.

Both spot and oscar are running FG into the ground with their constant bickering. It's boring and it seems that very few people can be bothered to post here now.

If I could find another forum similar to the forum FG used to be, I'd be off.

You're absolutely right Betty, It Is easier to say sorry. Thus: After I posted the tabloid links and the BBC link, how easy It would have have been to post something along the lines of:

You have a point there Oscar. I didn't bother to research what newspapers had covered the anniversary nor did I look closely enough to find the BBC page. It appears I was wrong and that the newspapers and the BBC did cover the anniversary after all.

Simple eh ? But no, we get the nasty Insults and the squirming, moving the goal posts so that Spot must never look like he's got It wrong.

In any event, what does any one expect when the opening post Is a smug condescending version of ' I didn't see any reports on the anniversary so here I am bringing It to world attention' especially when some of us actually attended a memorial service with war vets. The entire OP was an Insult especially to even suggest that Americans would be 'celebrating'. Instead of getting angry with me for daring to be Insulted by such bile, get angry with the fact that members are no longer posting here.

As for bickering as you call It... It's down to statistics. There are 4 maybe 5 regular members here posting on a daily basis. If there was 30 members posting on a daily basis and I continually butted heads with the same person or Spot, you may have a point. When you have such low numbers posting here with so few new threads, It's a fore-gone conclusion the same people will but heads. The way to put an end to It, Is stop threads like this that Insult every US member and encourage more members to post so we have some choice and diversity.

I do not post In every thread Spot posts yet every thread posted here Invariably, the first post made will be made by Spot.

As for me being tedious.... Put It this way Betty, If you were running In the 3.45 at Newmarket, we'd all wager our salery on you being right behind Spot In defense. Now that is tedious and I'll leave you to It.

Yes, they both bicker a lot but you have to admit spot starts 90% of it with these kind of comments and threads. Does he seriously think Americans rejoice on the anniversary of this occasion? It would be offensive if it wasn't so completely asinine to even suggest such a thing. And then to accuse Anastrophe of being the cause of his own personality disorder is completely ludicrous.

The mental patients are running the asylum, it seems.

I've found a forum where they discuss everything under the sun and it's actually one of the better forums I've visited lately. Strangely, it started out as a 'troll forum' whatever that means but it's a pretty well rounded place if you stay away from certain sections.

There Is also another forum which Is made up entirely of FG members such as Baowolf, Binbag etc who won't post here because of the way threads are ripped apart but that's Invitation only. If you like, I'll pm you the link.

Some like to think I would defend spot to the hilt but I won't, I was one of the first in here questioning what he was saying and asking where this hatred stems from. We got him talking, I'm amazed at what he's accused someone else of and getting to the bottom of such an odd way of forming opinions on America is what needs to be tackled instead of the bickering over whether something was in the news or not. A point I've been making to spot for a while is that because he's so aggressive in his posts on the US he's stopped his readership, people just get their backs up and walk off and won't correspond any longer and I for one don't blame them.

I like both Spot and Oscar, and I am not planning on leaving because of anything either of them say, but sometimes, you have to just NOT RESPOND when the other says something to rile you.

Now, back to our regularly scheduled program.

For me, it has nothing to do with liking or disliking spot and oscar. It's the constant bickering and point scoring that wears me down...it's so predictable, boring and draining.

I'm sure those who have been members here for a long time can remember the monumental bust-ups that would happen on occasion. Granted, they weren't always pleasant but at least they embodied a kind of energy that seemed to propel the forum foward.
