I just been laughing with my brother about the time he was.
He was most put out but I found It all hilarious.
We booked In to a twin bed ( to save money ) room In a Liverpool hotel one night after going to see The Stranglers and reception staff thought he was Alan Partridge. I just went along with It and accepted all the extra free hospitality bestowed upon us. :yh_rotfl

Alan Partridge is a fictional character, and not very flattering.
I thought I knew more than this until I opened my mouth

Yes I know but the thing Is, my brother looks like Alan Partridge but not Steve Coogan In real life....
I just made sure they didn't think I was Jill, Alan's secretary.

I sold a car. We went to my bank to handle the money transfer. Unknown to me, they had the wrong address for me and had been trying to find me as the bank statements were returned by the post office. The bank was pretty busy. When we got to the teller, she suddenly turned to call the bank manager. After they had a few words, the bank manager loudly exclaimed, "You're THE ?!?? Everyone in the bank froze and the camera phones came out, all aimed at me. I should mention that the bank was in Silicon Valley were the millionaires and startup geeks dress in jeans too.
From the reaction of those in the bank, everyone assumed that I was famous. Happily, I'm not. I couldn't wait to get out of there and back to the obscurity I so richly deserve.

My high school boyfriend's really weird little brother was sure I was Patty Hearst when he first met me.
Me, senior year:
Patty Hearst, around that same time:
I don't see it. Not to mention, I'm pretty sure Hearst was in prison at the time. Weirdo.

When my friend Sally was younger she looked like John Lennon. People in England (my first trip, in '69) would constantly stop her to laugh & take pictures. True story.
