Suck. I'm at an 8 hour training today that is so boring and dry that I feel like I'm crawling through the middle of the Sahara....

It has to do with how to teach the new math standards.

It's boring to me...and I'm a mathematician! I basically hate all trainings because, after 35,000 hours in a classroom, they all fall into one of three categories:

1. I tried that already, and I know that it doesn't work.

2. I'm doing that already.

3. It looks interesting, and I'll try it. ( extremely rare!)

Does anyone else have tons of professional development meetings, seminars, and workshops? Or is it just teachers?

OH, We have our share of all that.

I think I spend 20-25% of my time in some sort of professional development or skills honing, or social skills training, international business relationships, and the like.

IT's not good enough to just do my job, anymore.

When I was at College, part of my studies was The history of the British Trade Unions.

There was an obese lad In my class and I always made sure I sat behind him so our tutor couldn't see me. I then spent the two hours putting my make-up- on and writing letters.

I failed the exam
