Scots would pay a heavy price for break up the UK, says Brown as he enters debate on independence for first time | Mail Online

According to the most wonderful Prime Minister and generally bootylicious , Gordon Brown claims that Scottish athletes only did as well as they did In the Olympics because they were part of team GB.

He's got to be right. Hasn't he ?

Your eyes need seeing to. As for the Scottish athletes, you'll probably find they will perform to the highest standard at the Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh in 2 years time. Gordon Brown's opinions have as much substance as Scotch mist

About as much as a decent Gordon Brown policy. Very thin on the ground

The more people try and tell us we couldn't cope on our own the more likely a vote for independence will become.

Scots see themselves as scots and brirtish it gets annoying when the english think england and british means the same thing. Most scots would go for the devo max option rather than complete independence , the snp know that which is why they want a third option in the ballot. If the tories force the issue and have a simple yes no vote with the promise that if the vote is yes they will think about more powers they are playing right in to the SNP's hands Trust me I'm a tory just does not work in scotland. What people forget is that if we have independence it does not mean that alex salmond will actually be first minister the vote is not for him as a leader the issue is beyond personalities, personally i think he is a slimeball. New labiour is a wreck in scotland that is why labour have been losing votes hand over fist to the SNP. Clearly labour and the tories are shitting themselves at the prospect of the scots voting for independence, the loss of the oil revenue will show up the abject failure of Westminster and the right wing economic policies of the last thirty year Realistically if we were such a burden they would be glad to see us go to paraphrase alex salmond I have every confidence the english would survive without the scots running the place for them all the time.

Gordon brown is a moron along with the bankers he should be on trial for what he did to the country. .

Just to remind you how bog a moron he is.

Mansion House speech in 2007

I congratulate you on these remarkable achievements, an era that history will record as the beginning of a new golden age for the City of London ... I believe it will be said of this age, the first decades of the 21st century, that out of the greatest restructuring of the global economy, perhaps even greater than the industrial revolution, a new world order was created." .

I bet he bagged himself a nice little earner as a one day a week director/advisor/blagger in the city. You take the country to the dogs, sell the family silver and the only reward is a fat paycheck from a multinational for sitting at the large table in the board room.

Nice work if you can get it
