Mondays

Post by Oscar Namechange »

Tomorrow morning Is Monday....

I love Mondays... a new day and a new week.

The start of new things to come. New things to do and achieve.

Maybe some surprises and unexpected bonuses.

I love Mondays.... wonder what the week will bring.?

You're a lot more cheerful about Mondays than I am.

So I was up at 5 am and started work at 6 am.... I'm already very tired but that gives me a good feeling. I've done an honest mornings work to pay the bills...

No bills In the post box this morning other than my new horse's stabling fee's which I've just paid on line and very happy to do so.

Just had a brief shower of rain but that's good. The garden needed It after the sunshine and will make the ground easy for me when I dig out weeds later In the week.

Had some lunch with my man.... he's going for a lie down and I'm off with the dogs.... Mulder Is excited.... he knows It's car day.... he love's Mondays.

I'm not a monday man at all. Too many days away from the weekend. Friday afternoons I like. Saturdays are the best day of the week

Why Saturdays?

Oh boy was I lucky today !!!!

Just got back from Sainsbury's just after they had reduced the meat section. Man we will eat well this week !!! Got an £18 worth leg of lamb for just £7.50p.... £17 worth of Silverside beef for £8 and loin of pork worth £ 12 reduced to £3.99.

Also got £9 worth of lamb trimmings for £2.99 that I'm just about to start on a slow stew with some celery and carrots.

Mondays are not my favorite, either.

Half the day is sorting out all the customer calls that came in over the weekend, and meetings. Monday is meeting day.

I much prefer Fridays, because all of the managers sneak out early, so we have no meetings.

OH! and because of the fish fry at the local diner.

Saturday was always the best day as a kid. No school and lots of football.

Nowadays, there's still the football but that's the day I visit my Mum, step Dad and my 2 kids and their respective partners and 3 Granddaughters. Best day of the week.

Sundays are fine but I spend all day thinking " Aww I've got to go back to work tomorrow "

Funny because as a kid I hated Saturdays and Sundays come to that.... Saturdays were my brothers days as kids... this meant I was forced to stand on the touch lines watching my brothers play football. In the summer months, Sundays were spent every week being forced to help my Mother In the pavillion preparing the Cricketers tea's whilst the men sat In lawn chairs, saying things like ' Damn good show' and applauding politely.... I loathed every minute of It and considered It child abuse.

However, once a month as a kid, we we're taken horse racing.

In deepest winter with no sport on and no school on a Sunday, If there was a storm, our Father would drive us to near Beachy Head to watch the storm and watch the waves late at night.... he was sectioned shortly after that..... but on the way home, our treat was fish and chips that we ate In the car with wooden forks......... usually soaked after the breaker waves had drenched us.
