I'd really love to see the UK do this... fantastic.

Long overdue. Lackland's a huge base but I wish it was somewhere like Washington DC where more civilians can see it.

We're way ahead of the US in this, just a cursory search turns up these two examples.

The inscription carved on the front or inside of the memorial reads:

ANIMALS IN WAR

This memorial is dedicated to all the animals that served and died

alongside British and Allied forces in wars and campaigns throughout time.

They had no choice.


That last line made me a little weepy.
