Non-Aligned Movement

Post by koan »

Surprisingly, I just heard about this organization. What an interesting, diverse group! They just had their last summit in Iran. Will have to look into whether or not their voices have had any impact on world events.

Like NATO, a relic of the Cold War.
What happened to Kamala Harris' campaign?
She had the black vote all locked up.

Yet they still hold summits with vastly different member states all willing to seek common goals and with no members holding veto power.

Maybe the reason you never heard of them is because they never did anything of consequence (far as I can remember.)

The Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) is a group of states which are not aligned formally with or against any major power bloc.

Dark blue member states, light blue observer(whatever that means)

the original concept was to become a major power block itself. It was crippled by inaction, lack of conviction or common goals.

Like NATO, 20 years ago should have went the way of the Warsaw Pact. Covered by the dust of history.

But that's not may call. Whatever makes them happy. Gives them something to do.
