I see the stickers as harmless and certainly not as bad as graffiti as BTP claim at the bottom of the article.

Those stickers are great! Everyday commuting on a bus and seeing the same ads, I'd love to have something like that pop up here! The ones I saw in the link weren't offensive, and as long as the adhesive doesn't damage the paint I don't see why there'd be a problem.

I think they'd do well to embrace the personality of the stickers as a local charm and only insist that no one cover up or alter official signage as it is placed for safety or informational purposed deemed necessary for the transit company. Most likely it's a fad that will fade after some time. If they fight it, they'll probably feed the counter culture movement.
