stonehaven another person hit by train the AA grumpy column

Post by the grumps »

hi

no grumpy towers no editor tonight i just want to pick the FG members brains on a serious subject

now i know you may think me as sad but has anyone ever trawled the travel pages ? page 432 bbc red button which is rail infomation.

i tend to in between adverts and have noticed a very disturbing pattern.

at least once or twice a week there are delays due to person hit by train

tonight it was on the east coast at stonehaven

previously there have been incidents on southern, and london midland at birmingham, stafford and in east anglia.

apart from the poor driver who has to suffer the trauma and it must take some balls to walk in front of a train has things got so bad in broken britian today that people have had enough and are ending their lives on britains railways.

of course these incidents will never get back to the establishment or if they do via the railway inspectorate i assume dopey david cam moron is kept in the dark about it and he probably doesnt even realise its happening.

at one time there would probably be 2 or 3 suicides a year on the railways

now its happening nearly every week.

has britain become that bad that the only way to escape is to contemplate topping yourself ?

It's nothing new... people choose a speeding train as a method of suicide simply because It's quick... or It's meant to be. Many are not killed outright.

London Railway police call them a ' One Under ' and If you're ever on a train and hear an announcement that your train Is being delayed, It's due to 'Pedestrian activity'.

Last year, suicides by train was actually down In numbers by 11%

The way my luck is running if I tried that the train would be cancelled due to leaves on the line.:-5

It's always so terribly sad to me that life would be so unbearable for someone to take their own life. Lack of any hope is a tragedy unto itself.
