Bill Clinton's coming to My High School

SAN ANTONIO, TX -- Former President Bill Clinton is coming to Texas to campaign for Democratic congressional hopeful Pete Gallego, who's locked in one of the state's few competitive races.

Gallego spokeswoman Rebecca Acuna says Clinton will hold a rally for the state lawmaker Thursday at South San Antonio High School. Gallego is trying to unseat Republican U.S. Rep. Francisco Canseco in the sprawling 23rd Congressional District.

The race is among only a handful of toss-ups in Texas as the Nov. 6 election approaches.

Early voting begins Monday. Acuna says the Clinton event is free but supporters must obtain tickets at select early voting sites.

It's the third time since 2006 that Clinton has rallied Democrats in what has become a perennial swing district. His last visit in 2010 couldn't stop a Republican victory.Bill Clinton to rally Democrats in San Antonio | abc13.com

Have you been to any rally's recently? My last one was young bush in Ottawa Illinois. Apparently the place for one of the Lincoln Douglas debates.

It was fun being in a crowd that festive. Took the older daughter for the experience.

I've never been to a political rally. Might be fun. I'd love to take a select student or two.

We sent 258 seniors with 2 teachers to keep them in line. I wasn't one of them. Administration sent out threats to any other employees who dared go before 4:00. Well, Mr Clinton arrived early, the Fire Marshall declared the venue full at about 4:05, and it was wrapped up and over around 4:20. My fellow teachers and I didn't even get out of the school! :yh_wait

Well of course, but the kids that went were really excited & took pictures, shook hands, etc etc. They had a great time.
